I'm happyshooter's wife, that's my pink AR. Happyshooter had it specially customized for me -- it has a short buttstock and a carbine length buffer, the upper is an M-4 16" flat top. The gun is pretty cool to shoot, but loud since it's so short. We don't actually have a picture of me shooting it yet, since we always forget the camera when going to the gun range.

Any one got a pic of PRINCESS, that FA BLUE CAV-16 9mm. She was soooo NAUGHTY at the Casa Grande AZ Shoot i put 200 rounds through her tight lil bore!

I found this reference to the Colored CAV:
The Buffalo Soldier Story Nearly sixteen months after the end of the Civil War, Section 3 of an Act of Congress entitled "An Act to increase and fix the Military Peace Establishment of the United States" authorized the formation of two regiments of cavalry composed of "colored" men. The act was approved on 28 July 1866. On 21 September 1866, the 9th Cavalry Regiment was activated at Greenville, Louisiana, and the 10th Cavalry Regiment was activated at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Under the competent leadership of Colonels Edward Hatch and Benjamin Grierson, first Regimental Commanders of the 9th and 10th Cavalry Regiments, respectively, both regiments were trained and equipped and began a long and proud history. |
