But, in the interest of being multi-cultural and inclusive [puke] and speaking as the token Druid here, I would like to see the Winter Solstice ("Yule") included here....otherwise you'll all be hearing from my lawyer... BTW Balzac, I was just being discreet. I didn't want to "out" you until you were ready. But, since you mention it, what size camisole would fit you sweetums? [:D] |

If you all want this to happen it has to get underway real soon.
Here are my suggestions: 1) Appoint someone to do the exchangee match ups. 2) Set the spending minimum to $20. If you are still employed and want to spend more then it is up to you. 3) Set the gift exchange date to the week of December 9th. This gives you all 4 WEEKS to get your shopping done. All shipments MUST be done by UPS so that tracking numbers can be swapped. This should weed out the deadbeats. |

I have met Mark personally and am confident he would do a good job and in a timely and fair manner, plenty of the downstate NY guys know him too and would say the same, I'm sure. 2-$ 20 sounds good, good point about our having a lot of guys out of work, this should be something fun and not something stressful or something that the guys who are out of work or looking at layoffs can't participate in; if anything they need the cheering up and holiday spirit more than the rest of us. 3-I have no problem with time Imbroglio suggests. It is earlier than I thought, but best go get it done, particularly as shipping and mail slows down this time of year. |

Pleeeeeeeeeeeease do not sign up if you are not going to participate. This was a problem last year and caused us to almost lose a very valued member. Not to make a big deal about this, but really, it would be dishonorable to screw someone over on this.

I e-mailed a few people who I was not sure were interested or not (i.e. they posted here but did not specifically say they were interested) I think if no one has an objection I will come up with a final list of who will be on it early next week, I will post that and then people can e-mail their contact info to Helldog40 and he will pair people off (he told me he would agree to help out) and provide everyone with the other guy's contact info.
Or should we just have anyone interested e-mail Helldog? |

I think 'our pal imbrog' should step up and finish off what he started,(he should be the X-mas gift exchange director). I'd think if a team member gives you the endorsement on your post that you want in, then that would be a indication of past positive interaction in these sorts of exchanges we've had.It [pissed] me off that some assholes want in then cant even send a mag or something. I've been paired with Imbro,Yardogone,Hiriam, dragracerart and a few others here, on previous gift exchanges, possiably under a diffrent moniker. I like to look through my pile of stuffs and send of some for some new to me stuff.~ MA address. Can I get a endorsement from anyone named ? If so count me in again!

I'd like to get in. Sounds like fun. I also said this on Team board.

Quoted: Did Al Sharpton invent Kawaanzza because, in his words, "christmas was too white"? View Quote Kwanzaa was created whole cloth by Maulana Karenga (I think that is the correct spelling of his first name), at the University of Berkley in the late 1960's. He also was the founder of the "African American Studies" program that is found at many state universities around the US. Kawanzaa focuses on "the seven principles" that are supposed to guide black people. Please don't ask why a white boy knows about this. I'm in for the gift exchange. I agree that it should be limited to either Team members or members that have "significant" post levels. I am usually a bad gift giver, so I'll need some suggestions. MIerinMD |

Bump I've got a list of people so far that are confirmed to be interested I will post that Tuesday evening and we will proceed from there if no one has any objections. Still time to jump onboard if anyone else is interested. If you are interested please specifically state that in your post. There was a good suggestion about having people provide their gift exchange partner with a tracking number. I guess the post office provides that for $ .45 and other shipping methods (UPS fed ex etc) usually have a tracking number with everything they ship. I'm thinking that firearms/outdoors gifts are probably the way to go, although I have heard there are people who imbibe spirits and might prefer that. |

Hell, I'll jump in. Who do we have to notify, and when do pics happen?

Hey Mark, any chance of paring me up with Hoplite if he signs up for this?
How about a list of "recommended" gifts that way people don't go out and buy 20 pounds of hickory platapus jerky for our secret Santa! |

I intend to send an e-mail around tomorrow night confirming who is in and then everyone can send their info into Mark/Helldog so he can pair everyone off and exchange info. |

Aimless-
I couldn't reply to your pm because your mailbox was full. I haven't actually sold anything here nor do I know anyone from this board. I have just bought mags and a couple of other things. I have "heatware" references under this name from trading/selling computer parts. I don't intend to screw anyone over on this but would really like to get in on this. Is there anything I can do? Also has the min. price been set? Oz |

Quoted: Hey Mark, any chance of paring me up with Hoplite if he signs up for this? View Quote You know folks, we might even be doing this in a "chain" instead of an "exchange". IOW, "A" buys for "B", "B" buys for "C", "C" buys for "A"....get it? In this matter, you can't have any "influence" on your partner as you only know who you're giving to, not who you're getting it (possibly in more ways than one) from, hence the "secret" in Secret Santa.... Just one more example of my ability to add an extra, unanticipated dose of weirdness to any given situation. I'm open to suggestions..let's hear them. Any you NY area guys...I will NOT give anybody a leftover burger..[:D] |

Aimless & Helldog40,
I think one of you ought to set up a Poll for $$ amount for this! And to remind everyone that the set $$ amount does not include the postage. That postage is seperate! Mona |

I think I'm going to give this another day or so to see if anyone else trickles in before handing this off to Santa Helldog, if there are no objections
Min price is $ 20 |

Just a suggestion: Have the two folks who will exchange gifts communicate (if they desire) and decide what the spending limit is. That way one is not embarrassed and the other is not disappointed. Experience on this one.
