Hello,

I have a friend who may have a restraining order served to him (he has been threatened with one). He is a responsible gun owner and hunter. What will happen if this is served? Will he have to sell his guns, give up hunting, or not be able to purchase anymore guns? Your input would be appreciated..

    Thanks,

I am sure it varies from state to state, but here a order means no guns....period!!

Bad Juju!!  Stop it at all cost, unless of course he earned it.

Title 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(d)(8) and (g)(8) prohibit possession of firearms by persons who are subject to domestic violence protection orders.

Sucks for him.

If he's a good pal of yours, you might buy his guns for him and resell them to him when the order goes away.

This system sucks because virtually EVERY lawyer and ALL women's groups tell her to get a PFA immediately, even if the guy is armless, legless and bedridden. Judges give these out like water with NO REASONABLE CAUSE WHATSOEVER!!!

The system should be changed because instead of protecting women and kids, it becomes an unfair  weapon come divorce time.
