I was curious, the manual shows a bullet being used to press in the two pins ( front pivot pin and the other one whose name I have forgotten ) that connect the upper and the lower.  Is there anything else that ya'll can suggest?  Thanks.

Fingers have always worked for me.

Your thumb, if you push hard enough.

I sometimes use the plastic handle of a small screwdriver, depending on how tight the pin is.

I have a lifetime supply of, and use EXACTLY what my drill seargant (SSG Saragian, Ft Dix, NJ) used...

an AR Firing pin....

They will secure anywhere in military gear...pistol belt, etc...they are solid, and will even remove bolt/extractor pins....

BEST OF ALL they are an EXTRA if one is needed....

OUT HERE....

I like that one CavVet!

You can always pony-up for one of those BM push-pin tools for $7.00

I use my finger on the takedown pin and a small screwdriver or Leatherman for the firing pin retaining pin. And then the firing pin if I remove the extractor.

Oh yea...two screw drivers on the pivot pin when I'm inclined to go that far. Usually I'm not.

My pivot pin is pretty tight.  Fingers work for the back one, but the front one almost has to be hammered out.  I wonder if this is just because the gun is new or if I am doing something wrong?

All I do is lay the gun on its side and proceed to take out the pivot and the takedown pins, should I be doing something else?

Just my thumb to get em started and them pull them out with my finger nails from the other side seems to work for me.

Then I remove the firing-pin retaining pin with the corner of my fingernail. I then use the firing pin to push out the extractor pin on the bolt.

I take one AR and "shoot out"  the takedown pins of my other AR. At 100 yds.

I smack it with the middle knuckle of my right hand middle finger, just like I did at basic training.  Works for me.

My thumb, unless they are stuck then I use the BACK of a Paper Mate Med. Point PEN because it is the same size as the pin and fits well into the hole...

I have the best idea,    I am going to begin marketing TACTICAL takedown pens! Disassemble your rifle by day, write your mom by night.  I am going to make a million!

You heard it here first, it's MY idea, so don't even bother consulting a Patent Attorney. MINE!

I'll have to get back to you on that.  I need to talk to my consultants first.

Ball park figure (don't hold me to this) $20 for blue ink, $25 for black ink. This of course depends on my margin.
