CNN has just started the coverage. The guy is moving down to the Richmond area now. I figured he would hit this weekend just to spite the people who said he doesn't hit on the weekend.

Don't you just love our 9 to 5, weekends and holidays off news channels...you can't get news on the weekends anymore to save your life. If 9-11 had happened on a Saturday night we would not have seen pic's of the buildings coming down until Monday morning...Sheeeesh.

Saturday, October 19, 2002 Police are concerned the Washington, D.C.-area sniper has struck again, as a man has been shot in Ashland, Va, according to a local radio station. Richmond-based WRLH is reporting that a 60-year-old man has been shot inside or near a Ponderosa restaurant. Parts of a nearby highway, Route I-95, have been closed in an effort to find the shooter. The shooting has not been connected to the Washington, D.C.-area attacks, but police are treating the shooting as though the sniper was responsible. People have telephoned WRLH and said a white truck was in the area at about the same time the shooting took place. The victim has been rushed to the hospital. There is no information about his condition. |

They are saying the shooting happened around 8:30. CNN is on the phone with a guy working at a gas station next to the Ponderosa Resturant.

Looks like the sniper hit again.
The shooting took place at the Ponderosa Steak House on Hwy 54 in Ashland. The restaurant is just about 1/2 mile from the interstate and maybe a mile or so from Hwy 1. 54 is the east west connector there. This guys flown. Dammit! No word on the victim yet. Not even sure it's the terrorist...but figure the odds it isn't. [pissed] |
