Is it just because there are many people standing around at a gas station, and they make easy targets? Or maybe it suggests a link to mid-east oil.  The terrorists seem very angry that we gain so much wealth from "their" oil.

That would also be my guess.  I'm a lot more alert walking than I am while bored waiting on the pump.  Plus the people are usually standing still so they make an easier target.  (insert sarcasm)  That's important since the sniper is probably using one of the unobtainium rifles with a four mile range that my local paper claimed this morning he was probably using.  It takes a long time for that bullet to travel the four miles.  What MOA would that imaginary rifle be?z

About .114 MOA would be required to hit an 8 inch target at 4 miles.

That is not possible with any rifle.

I'm not willing to say that the gas station thing has to do with mid-east oil.  I think it has more to do with the fact that it's something people have to do fairly regularly.  Good terror tactic.

Did you use the actual definition of MOA, or did you use the 1" per 100 yds. generalization?

Actual definition.

Why did you call it a petrol station? I know very few Americans who even know that word, much less use it instead of 'gas'.

Do they call it petrol in some parts of the country?

(we call em gas stations here in the midwest)

I could be wrong, but I though I heard that this gas station was right accross the street from the state police barracks.

I get all of my gas at taco bell, so I don't have to worry about getting shot.

I have a vague notion on this shooter, that may have been posted here before.  I have not fully flushed out the idea in my head, but here goes.

Michael is sometimes used to refer to Jesus (Michael row your boat).  Two of the victims were shot at Michael's store.

The tarot card makes reference to being God.  There may be more to the note, but I beleive this was found when he shot the boy.  Maybe a loose 'son of God' reference of some kind.  This is a Christian idea.

Shooting at the gas stations, maybe using an M16.  Our troops in the middle east have M16s.  This could possibly be a loose connection to Christians killing over oil.  Maybe something with Christianity versus Islam.

This could all be a coincidence, as gas stations have open areas with stationary people.

Me too. We just have to worry about "gut bombs".
