...and it got me thinking (I know, scary thought). I've lived here now for both a summer and a winter olympics, and now the Asian Games are in full swing. I believe I may have posted on this similar subject for those previous events as well - Anyway, the media coverage of the shooting sports outside of the US is SO MUCH better than inside. Thursday, I watched air rifle - LIVE - for a good hour. Now it is Double(s) Trap shooting. Coverage has been equally good through the proveious olympic games not just in the shooting sports, but in all the "smaller" sports - Judo, Taekwondo, fencing, table tennis - you name it. Why does American media coverage suck so bad that I would rather watch the games in a foreign language? Why can't I help but think the whole thing is related to the recent media "coverage" of the Maryland shootings. Why are American reporters the only ones who seem proud of ignorance as it relates to all things martial or in any way indirectly associated with violence?
