If this was 20 years ago, considering the Boston location and the reported third bomb at the JFK Library, I would wonder if this was connected to IRA or anti-IRA activities in Northern Ireland. Today though I'm not aware of any active bombing or terror campaign by either side and my understanding is the peace process there is generally working. There's still shootings and (mainly attempted) bombings but they're very rare. They found a modified van loaded up with homemade mortars on the way to attack a police station a few weeks ago but as far as I am aware nothing has happened recently that that would warrant this as retaliation. |
