Just saw a scene in tonight's episode where Mimi took Drew to the dump to work some stress off. She pulled a shotgun out of her car, and he got on his knees all panicked assuming she was going to finish him off. But then she handed him a shotgun and explained how blasting stuff at the dump always took the stress out of everyday life. She then passed him the shotgun, took out her own (a pistol grip pump, that she cocked by holding onto the grip and jerking up and down with one hand) and they started blasting garbage. Nice to see some gun humour from Hollywood can get through to the masses.

And that's only surpassed by Drew's appreciation of strippers and porn stars (particularly Chasey Lain).

There was a Y2K episode where they all drained their bank accounts, bought guns and some provisions, and felt prepared for Armageddon. I don't remember much about it, but it didn't seem to terribly anti gun.

That was the episode where they were in court. Outside the courthouse, drew opened the trunk on his VW and inside was around $50,000 in cash, a bunch of ammo and shotguns. The cop walking by noticed it, and he tried to explain the y2k preparedness thing with no success. It was a funny episode.

Drew's a libertarian and pro-gun. He bought some AR's before the cali ban because "if the government doesn't want you to have them, the must be worth having" Drew Carey for NRA president!

Well just what did you expect from a former Marine?

No shit! Drew Carey pro-gun, gotta like hearing that. That's a suprise, maybe I'll watch his show every now and again. [x]

Hey guys! Read this E! Online interview with Drew Carey http://www.eonline.com/Celebs/Qa/Carey/interview3.html Drew is asked: [blue]Do you still own guns?[/blue] "Yeah, of course. I have them for protection." [blue]Any assault rifles?[/blue] "They're all assault rifles--I don't make the distinction. You still have to pull the trigger and point it at someone, whether it's a shotgun or an AK-47. They're all made for killing people, so I don't make the differentiation." P.S. Don't get caught up on all former Marines being pro-gun. Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago was a Marine and he's totally anti-gun. ArmaLiter

Well, they are usually anti-gun for everybody but themselves and their body guards, ala Don Perata here in California. Remember, they know what is best for us because we can't be trusted to make decisions affecting our lives.

There is a great difference between a Marine, and a punk ass charlatan posing as one. Yes, they do exist, but they don't fool real Marines for one second.

Not all Libertarians vote Libertarian in national elections. I know one personally. He acknowledges that it is necessary to change things at the grass roots first before going "for it all" Carey made some very pro-Bush comments a while ago at a Hollywood gathering and it seems like the press covering it were shocked. Anybody remember the exact senario?

The intelligent ones certainly don't.

Drew's had a couple things on his show which I think aren't really anti nor are they pro; mostly comedic factor. He is a Libertarian and pro gun though, which is nice. And he is a Marine...I think reserve or something. I forget, I recall him talking about it on a talk show one time. ABC was even thinking about using him for something to talk about the upcoming war if I recall correctly last year. Kind of like Fox uses Ollie North.

I always laugh my ass off watching his show. His other show "Whose Line is it Anyway" is also really funny. Good to know he's a gunnie.

From the link above: The Experience: Drew Carey, 43, suffered from depression growing up. His father died of a brian tumor when he was 8, and he was sexually molested when he was 9. Carey tried, twice, to overdose on sleeping pills in his teens and early twenties. But finding salvation in self-help books, he started to turn his life around after college. On a trip to San Diego to visit his brother Neal, Carey walked into a Marine Corps Reserve recruiting station. He thought the strict discipline would be good for him, which it was -- Carey wound up in the top 10 percent of his boot-camp team, and spent the following six years in the military.

Heck, he had Rush Limbaugh on his show as a guest! Rush said that he was a great guy later on his radio talk show. Eric The(DittoHead)Hun[>]:)]

and according to a interview with Maxim magazine, Carey used to score 100% routinely on his PT tests. The interviewer asked him what happened to him and he replied beer and strippers.

Drew Carey and Kelsey Grammer (Frasier) were in the procession following George W. Bush's inauguration. My wife and I saw them first hand, and we got a wave from Drew while they were lined up before the start (even though he was in the middle of an interview on the float!). Kelsey blew me off (I guess I should have said he ignored me, but since he ignored me, now he can...)

Woah, he had a bad childhood? Doesn't this mean he should be a petty thief who needs bleeding heart Liberals and Government checks to keep him on his feet? After all, if it's possible to have a bad childhood and still be successful (and have an appreciation for freedom), then wouldn't that make all of the people who do need Liberals and Government checks dirtbags? But, but... That's impossible! He must by lying! Yeah, that's it! Damm, see what happens when you try to think like a Liberal? Nice to know there are some decent guys in Hollywood. [^]
