Some scumbag POS came thru his backyard door and entered through the kitchen. Gereral area is mostly filled with old retired people. He awoke to some noises and the scumbag took off. He didn't get a look at the assailant. Probably some local scumbag. Only the DVD player appears to be missing. Police have been called and he will file a report. No guns in his house but I keep telling him he has to get one. Like now! Pretty odd for a burglary to happen at night when someones home right? I'm not a light sleeper but if I awoke to some scumbag rummaging thru my house he'd be lying on a coroner slab right about now donning a toe tag. Please make sure all entry points are secured and strong enough to withstand a kick. Think I'll go down there right now and see what the police say. Later.

My house got burglarized on Christmas day, while we had dinner with friends. Not only did they rip off our VCR, laptops, and (small) hoard of Krugerrands, but they threw everything in the fridge onto the walls of the kitchen. Oh man, if we had caught them in the act.....

Not only that, the POS scumbags rummaged thru my friend's SS Camaro. That's really crossing the line. What did they expect to find, a wad of $1000 bills? I'd loan him a gun but he hasn't been shooting in about eight years. The cops even said it's unusual for a burglary when occupants are home.

My fiancee's car was stolen this weekend in Washington DC. It was later recovered in the deepest part of the jungle with its front windshield smashed. It looks like they jumped on the hood (which is evidenced by nice shoeprints on the paintjob) and did a Tiger Wood's imtation with a baseball bat. To add insult to injury, when we started the car to see if it still ran, the radio was tuned to the most G*d awful, urban getto gangster music station on the f*ing planet. None of this is covered by her insurance because she only carries the bare minimum. I think the worst part of the ordeal is that DC is charging her to get her car back. They say that she has to fork over $185 in towing and storage "fees". Can you believe it? You are a victim of a crime yet you have to PAY to get you're property back?? This is all courtesy of former Mayor Marion Berry, the Metro Police and the city towing companies. F**K DC! F**K Home Rule! Congress should retake control of the city administration because the lunatics have taken over the asylum. *edited to say that I didn't mean to hijack a thread, just to indicate that I understand what he's feeling*

Man that sucks, sounds like your friend needs to get some means of self protection. Thank god every one is ok. You stated that it is odd that someone would break into a house when someone is there, well that is not that odd, hell here in the portland metro area in Oregon we got some wack job breaking into peoples houses and rapeing 7-9 year old little girls while everyone else in the house is asleep! There have been three cases this summer of actual rape, and 2 other cases were the crime was stopped because someone in the house had heard someone outside and they were able to scare the person away! So scumbags seem to not care if someone is home anymore or not, all they are motivated to do is get what they want.

Damm how brazen of them. Activities like that could cost them their life and they still do it. Crazy. Time to go gun shopping.

Another thing that has been going on in the area is people comeing up to your door and posseing as a door to door sales person and once they could see that you were off your guard they would storm your door, assault you, robb you, and in some cases, rape women. One other high profile case around these parts was a man called an escort service to have a female come to his house, well she came over, had there fun, and then she left, well a few minutes after she left, she came back to the door and said she left something in the house, well then at that point in time herself and another guy rushed the door, killed the guy, and robbed his house. They were eventually caught, the girl is serving 17 years, and the guy that did the killing is know on trial! So know I dont answer my door unless I am armed! Strange times we live in these days!

I think that anyone who'd consider breaking in to an occupied house in CO borders on suicidal. I'm sure that it happens occasionally, but our "Make My Day" law is a great deterrent.

Where are all the liberals who were up in arms a few days ago about the "harsh" sentence given by the judge to the juv pos who broke into the guy's garage??????? Like I said then, there is no difference. Both are occupied structures which were, or may have been occupied. Maybe if the burglar had taken a six pack, it would have been OK (sarcastic).

This is supposed to be part of the next phase of terrorism to take place in the States. It's the reason I put up a CLEAR and obvious sign on the door that says "Absolutely NO soliciting!" and as someone else said, I carry in the house. Shouldn't have to, but I do. And I pitty the fool that challenges the door against my wife. She's a dead eye! Scott

There will be a lot of dead terrorists if they strike Berkeley first.

I'm safely situated in the Cayman Islands. Just kidding, left coast.
