Remember:  The NRA must receive your ballot by April 14!

He's up for reelection.  This jackass, the pusher of assault weapons bans and 5-round mag limits:

Here's the problem:  the NRA board election is done with acceptance
voting.  You can vote for up to 25 candidates from the list, and the 25
people with the most votes win.  That makes it very hard to kick out
specific members, because you have to get 25 other people with more
votes.
Here's what we need to do:  DON'T FILL IN OR MAIL YOUR BALLOT YET!
We'll all need to choose 25 other people, and to have the best chances
of knocking Joaquin Jackson off the board, we would ideally all choose
the same 25.  I don't want to tell anyone who to vote for, so instead
I'm going to keep an updated list of candidates that members here like.
If you know one of the people running for the board, briefly post
your experiences, and I'll copy them into the next few posts.  Hopefully
we can find 25 candidates who we feel are better suited than Joaquin
Jackson.  Similarly, if there are any more jokers like him running this
year, let us know that too.

All the candidates running this year:
1.  Joe M. Allbaugh
2.  Bob Barr
3.  Graham Hill
4.  Susan Howard
5.  Frank E. Bachhuber Jr.
6.  Richard Childress
7.  Pete Brownell
8.  Marion P. Hammer
9.  H. Joaquin Jackson
10. Oliver L. North
11. Larry E. Craig
12.  Tom King
13. Johnny Nugent
14. Sandra S. Froman
15. Ted Nugent
16. Willie J. Robertson
17. George Kollitides
18. Dave Butz
19. Karl A. Malone
20. Don E. Young
21. Dwight D. Van Horn
22. James W. Porter II
23. Robert E. Sanders
24. Joel Friedman
25 Carol Bambery
26. Matt Blunt
27. Steven C. Schreiner
28. Jeffrey S. Crane
29. Lance Olson
Naughty List:
Larry Craig
Joaquin Jackson
Karl Malone
Arfcom-Approved:
Carol Bambery

Bob Barr

Matt Blunt

Pete Brownell - Founder of Brownells.com, ARF site sponsor.
Sandra S. Froman

Graham Hill
Tom King - President of the NYSRPA, and ARFCom member.

Oliver North

Johnny Nugent
Ted Nugent
Lance Olson
Willie J. Robertson
Steve Schreiner - Colorado gun rights activist.
Dwight D. Van Horn
Post your suggestions.  We need 25 good guys.

It comes inside your American Rifleman.  I just got mine today.

We have been trying to get rid of him ever since he made that video, but he keeps getting the votes.

FWIW, he is just one of a large pro-gun NRA Board and hasn't had any effect on the direction  of the NRA.

For a  primer on voting strategy, see David Hardy's piece:  http://armsandthelaw.com/archives/2013/02/nra_ballot_issu.php#comments

One clue in voting: if you cast the entire 25 votes that are allowed,
you water down each of them. There's usually about 5 that I consider
highly important, maybe even indispensable, to the organization, and
then many more who would be good. But if I vote for the many more good
ones, I increase the odds that one of them might displace the
indispensable ones.

This is a different strategy than what we're trying here.   We want to specifically kick out one person, not specifically protect one (or a couple) of people.

Addition to Good Guy list:
Make sure to vote for Steve Schreiner for the NRA board.
Hardcore black rifle advocate, gun rights activist here in Colorado for 20+ years. Hates communists and loves "assault rifles".

Another one that has to go is Grover Norquist.  Here is a part of just one of many articles written about him:

http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/03/grover_norquists_jihad.html

Grover Norquist's ties
to Islamic supremacists and jihadists have been known for years. He and
his Palestinian wife, Samah Alrayyes -- who was director of
communications for his Islamic Free Market Institute until they married
in 2005 -- are very active in "Muslim outreach." Just six weeks after
9/11, The New Republic ran an exposé explaining how
Norquist arranged for George W. Bush to meet with fifteen Islamic
supremacists at the White House on September 26, 2001 -- to show how
Muslims rejected terrorism.
Wrote TNR author Franklin Foer:

On
the afternoon of September 26, George W. Bush gathered 15 prominent
Muslim- and Arab-Americans at the White House. With cameras rolling, the
president proclaimed that "the teachings of Islam are teachings of
peace and good." It was a critically important moment, a statement to
the world that America's Muslim leaders unambiguously reject the terror
committed in Islam's name.

Unfortunately,
many of the leaders present hadn't unambiguously rejected it. To the
president's left sat Dr. Yahya Basha, president of the American Muslim
Council, an organization whose leaders have repeatedly called Hamas
"freedom fighters." Also in attendance was Salam Al-Marayati, executive
director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, who on the afternoon of
September 11 told a Los Angeles public radio audience that "we should
put the State of Israel on the suspect list." And sitting right next to
President Bush was Muzammil Siddiqi, president of the Islamic Society of
North America, who last fall told a Washington crowd chanting
pro-Hezbollah slogans that "America has to learn if you remain on the
side of injustice, the wrath of God will come."

It
was Norquist who ushered these silver-tongued jihadists into the Oval
Office of an incurious president after the worst attack ever on American
soil. Instead of Hamas, Hezb'allah, and the Muslim Brotherhood, Ibn
Warraq, Bat Ye'or, and Wafa Sultan should have been advising the
president. Instead, at that September 26 meeting, Bush declared that
"the teachings of Islam are teachings of peace and good." It was a
critically important, historic incident. What should have been the most
important teaching moment of the long war became a propaganda tool for
Islam. A singular opportunity was squandered, and the resulting harm is
incalculable.

Bush
did this because he trusted Norquist, who vouched for these Muslim
leaders. Yet "the record suggests," wrote Foer, "that [Norquist] has
spent quite a lot of time promoting people openly sympathetic to
Islamist terrorists." And this continued for years.
