If yer gonna wear a dress, at least carry a gun. [:D]

I have been wanting to try a kilt for awhile now, I have heard they are comfortable. I always wear shorts well into winter if I can get away with it without the neighbors thinking I am crazy. I will get one! I just hope I do not begin getting an appetite for haggis.

Well, if yer goin' fer a concealed fixed blade knife, just make sure the handle doesn't "print" in the wrong place, if ya knows what I means. [blush] 'Specially if yer hangin' with the guys, and all, in yer kilt. Who knows. It might impress the ladies. [:D]
I was referring to the thread from yesterday, which was what got me thinking about kilts.

I applaud the decision. I'm a multi-cultural kinda guy, but apparently NOT secure enuf in my manhood to wear a kilt. [BD] But I swear, if you start askin' about panty hose, we're gonna come up there and open up a can of whooparse on ya. [:D]

If it became fashionable here I'd wear one all the time. My ancesters wore them. I don't see anything feminine about wearing one. I'm secure in my mascalinity![%(]

I wouldn't wear a kilt outside in TX much... they are VERY comfortable in the heat, but they leave yer gibbles too exposed to fireants, rattlers, thorns, barbed wire, and small vicious terriers.

I can seen this is going nowhere but what the hell. But most people by a blackwatch style tartan.{dark blue and dark green} Don't get a u-til-a-kilt or one that is pleated by the line. The first just plain suck and the second shows a different "pattern" inside the pleats. And just a hint... if it is wool and it should be hand sew a piece of silk or the like over the place it rubs "precious." It will make for a better experience when walking.

I'm sure if you go back far enough, my ancestors wore animal skins and fur, but you're not going to catch me wearing that either. It's the 21st century. Styles change. The only reason I can imaging anyone wearing a kilt these days outside of ceremonial occasions is to gain attention. BTW, my ancestry is also Celtic, so I'm not bashing anyone. Just the style. note to self, no self respecting Scotsman wears skivies under his kilt! kpel308, What kind of material is the Amerikilt? Couldn't find any info on the site... I actually saw a guy, guess he was in construction, workin outside in the 104 degree heeat the other day...and he was wearing what looked like a khaki Utilikilt. Being a 52 inch waist, I'd love to find a reasonably priced everyday kilt without having to foot the bill for some pussy anarchists. I'd sure as hell wear it, especially if I could get it in my native McGregor tartan...

I saw a dood wearing one at the bar. I didnt stay long...it was just weird...whats the point? Why would you wear this?...to look 'cool', I think a Star Trek uniform would be cooler.(with phasers and ARphaser rifles!) just my opinion. Gaspain

I don't give a shit what anyone else wears. I'm talking about me. When I mentioned skins and furs, I was thinking more like caveman wear, not modern leather. t don't know, I guess I am to much of a traditionalist to wear a kilt that is not in a tartan. I did check out the camo kilt. it just seems the wrong pattern. like I said I will stick with my belted plaid.

Well, I am scottish and have worn a kilt before at a clan get together. Felt pretty weird. BTW, during WWI the Germans called the Scottish regiments "The Ladies from Hell" because of them wearing kilts into battle.

BAH!!!!!!!!!!! you all be lazy people! If you are going to wear a kilt, do it right. Them sissified pre-pleated things are for damn tourists. If ya want a REAL kilt get 6 yards or so of the heaviest plaid ya can, fold it, pleat it, belt it on, throw the end over ya shoulder.

Man, that one that will hold a six pack of Guinness is the shiznit! Remember lads, it's ok fer yer ta go on the piss, but it's nigh ok for the piss ta go on yer! Pro's: Comfortable, easier to take a piss while inebriated, easier to fuck yer mom (while inebriated of course), don't have to worry about dealing with a zipper during tax time, and it would piss off a bunch of cock-smokin vegan marxist nut-huffers. Con's: Some fockin idjyuts might try to make fun of you. That's why the one that will hold a six pack of Guinness bottles is so cool. You can throw 4 and break 2 for a little intimate play. What do the British call a Scot with a six pack of Guinness? A Street gang! Gosh, I can't wait for some wannabe in a dashiki try talk junk about my kilt! Hey USPC40, where'd you find that picture of me wearing my fur kilt?
Link Posted: 9/11/2002 3:53:12 AM EDT
in my case that's 2 yards wide and 4 yards long.

Actually that was the name they gave the North Nova Scotia Highlanders after they hit the beach in Normandy and advanced farther and faster then any other Regiment. ![;)]

Actually, I think I read the "Ladies from Hell" thing in McBride's WWI books. I can't remember if it was 'A Rifleman Goes to War' or 'The Emma Gees'. That is not to say they didn't call them that during the Normany invasion too but McBride wrote his books in the early 1920s I think.
