"Thwart" really isn't fitting here. This isn't a drill preparing to shoot it out with citizens. Civil support teams deal with assisting local 1st responders with dealing with and responding to HAZMAT incidents. We train with them all the time. FD HAZMAT here.

You must have an AMAZING training budget!
Here the training revolves around more typical things as there is both limited time and budget. I will note that the propaganda is often exposed to first responders to condition them to the language first and the actions later. It use to be child abuse was the boogieman, now it's supporters of the Second Amendment. Once you're demonized/dehumanized the military might of the state can be used against you. Quoted:

Demonizing the opposition is the fist step in winning compliance!
 If they called us Constitutional patriots or 2nd Amendment freedom fighters it wouldn't go over as well.  It will only get worse from here on out, because they’re losing the propaganda war against guns.

I cound understand response drills for an attack on a state capitol building or one directed at a political party's headquarters. But on a school?????? And with NBCs?????? When did 2nd amendment advocates morph into Al Qaeda???

Except your wrong and shows that, like the majority, you know nothing about exercises. The scenario is overblown to include as many aspects as possible. The idea is that everyone gets to exercise what they need to be exercising on a regular basis, plus, they get to exercises it with higher echelon leadership levels as well as adjacent/tertiary units. While it seems overblown in overview, it looks like it allowed the Ohio National Guard to test a great many things. This will enable them to find the faults in their methods and begin the process of fixing them and re-training themselves. |
