[A German guy made the grave mistake of asking my advice on a love poem. His idea revolved around a rather complicated pun involving the basic facts, and his heart being on the ground. You know, base, all the way down, get it? Well, neither did I. Here's what I suggested he should write the stubborn object of his admiration.]

I gave all my heart to you,
and took your love for granted
But looking at the basic facts,
My heart, you didn't want it.

You bitch! How could you be so mean!
I thought you loved me back,
And here we lay, my heart and me,
Rejected! In the dreck!

I dust it off, my lonely heart.
It's to the bar we go.
I buy myself a pint of beer
and find another ho'.
