This is the same guy who seriously wanted the chain to stop selling cakes and pies because Americans are already too fat. The shareholders had to slap him down on that one.

So yeah, he's all about "choices"...

He is the head of a private company, he is not Michelle Obama the gigantic whore gorilla or Maria Grisanti the toxic cunt of NY. Should he decide to do exactly as you stated, that is his prerogative. It is probably more a business decision (a la Subway) than a decision based upon his desires for the health of the nation, but either way is fine as he has no control over anoyone. The bottom line is, he is free to market anything and everything as he chooses, and we are all free to buy or shop elsewhere, whether or not it fits into your stereotypical "conservative" and "liberal" molds.

Not all liberals are grass eating health nuts, in fact....most are uneducated twinkie eaters pushing well over 300 lbs. Most conservatives are omnivores that are PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE for their diet, and will have their double bacon triple mayo blah blah blah burger when it suits them, and will WORK that off and BALANCE it with some decent meals.

Anyone who gives a flying fuck what a CEO of a grocery store says about what they eat is either a liberal or a disgusting fat body. I will stand by that statement as 100% truth.

If he doesn't want to carry cakes, that is his choice. No one's stopping you from going over to Safeway and buying a cake there.

Ditto on this CEO's stance and candor in light of the militant libs and democrats.  I have two nearby and will eat there every chance I get from now on.  Both have killer hot food, a gazillion soups, cold salad bars, plus a deli section and pizza.  I think its Tues or Thurs they have shredded BBQ pork thats really good.

I think its about money too, but at some point the "free spirited granola cruncher" and the "in-defiance of the man" must rear its head.  Maybe thats part of it for this guy. Hopefully we'll see  more of this!

I would have figured 180 degrees the other way. Peace out Safeway, I just moved up in the grocery world.

Seriously.  But then again pretty much all democrats are liberal unless you are talking abut their money

Whole Foods is expensive as hell, but they have awesome food and almost always some nice scenery .

Also, they don't care if I grab one of their fancy beers off the shelf and drink it while I'm wandering around in the store. Just have to finish it before I leave.

Pretty sure hes Libertarian

This. According to the man's argument, there are plenty of way too many "conservative" fascists out there too.

Doesn't take a Conservative to have common sense, it helps though.

Great food and although I don't always agree with his views, I feel a little better about shopping there.  Plus it's based in TX.  And i'm a PA boy that admires TX.

Despite how it's used pejoratively in common parlance, fascism has a fairly narrow definition in the political theory world. Diagnosticly speaking, fascism entails more characteristics than the definition he's using, many of which Obama and his regime doesnt posses. Obama's vision for the US, as fucking awful as it is, would be better labeled as something akin to authoritarian democratic socialism that incorporates a great deal of cronyism and oligarchical tyranny.

Needs more MSPaint.

Go.

I bought stock in Whole Foods when it was still a little shop in Austin, Tx. I'm glad to hear the CEO is a good man.

Thanks for that, rich boy.

Oh no! Capitalism! Run away!

(I bough it cheap and didn't buy much, though it does throw off a nice dividend and the whole package is worth about $20k, more when the economy is going full tilt).

My dad runs Communion at my church, and the church recently decided to go gluten free with their bread.  Whole Foods is the only store around that consistently carries gluten-free bread.

So hearing this news makes me happy.

I love Capitalism. I have never liked braggarts. You are the latter. Keep going, big boy. You're a hero on the ternet.

I am going to shop there as often as I can.
It will be a drive, but I WILL drive.

Kudos to that guy!

(I think he was a feel good libtard in his early adulthood but I could be mistaken.)

I like to go to whole foods, they have great steaks and other tasty meats + a huge selection of beer. I don't go that often though, half of the store is full of "weird" food items, rice cakes and other new age crap.

Whole Foods is relatively pricey.  The FSA sure as hell dont shop there; people with decent jobs and disposable income do.

Lots of hot women shop there too

Lots of SMOKING HOT women shop there. They come in all of the desireable shapes and sizes. All kinds of pretty packaging. Very nice, very nice.

Whole foods should get an FFL and have a gun section.
