Torf,
most of us have been mods for a while but the designator only showed when we were in our own forums before the site upgrade.

Of course I was going to add that I'm not a moderator. Until I noticed I had "the powers" on another page. I don't think I will when I post this one though.

Damn I was looking forward to wreaking some havoc there for a minute or so. [:D]

You should remove some of the startup items in your taskbar Torf. You can boot up faster and save a lot of resources.

Make one, then upload it to a web server, and link to it.  I use MSN Communities.  It is not the best, but it is cheap, and it doesn't give me too many red "x"s.

Nah, he's cool.  He's on a laptop, looks like.

I can make out a power profile task icon, sound icon, touchpad, ethernet (not connected), RealPlayer (this one is a memory hog, though - you might want to ditch that one, Torf), remove devices, an elephino, network connection for dialup (I'm assuming), and KaZaa.

Torf's cool on the startup programs (at least, once he ditches the RealPlayer).

The items on the Taskbar (right next to start button) do not take up resources, as they are the same as a standard shortcut.  The System Tray (next to the clock) on the other hand, DOES us up resources.  However, I need that stuff to be running so I get proper use of my laptop.

From the left:
Plug - batteries are charging
Speaker - Sound card is operating
Grey square - touchpad is loaded
1st network  - not connected.  I have 2 cards
RealPlayer - not essential
Hot Swap port - needed to run the onboard cd drive
B's Clip - needed to run the USB cd burner
2nd network - useful for getting my e-mail and surfing AR15.com
Kazaa - what else?  DOWNLOADING STUFF!

Anyhow.  I run a lot of stuff while I am at work, and I can sacrifice a bit of memory.  If I decide to load up a game though, I'll shut down all the non-essentials.

Yeah, Im aware of RealPlayer.  If I do anything real intensive, I'll shut it down.

I think I should have been more specific.  How do you make a screen shot?  I'm not that computer savy....

Sorry Kal.

See the Print Screen button near the upper right section of the keyboard?  Take a stab at it.  It will create an image in the memory of your computer.

Now, open MSpaint, paintbrush, or whatever, and go to EDIT in the menu.  Select 'Paste' to obtain your screenshot.  Now it can be saved like any picture file.

You can also insert screenshots into Word and probably Photoshop too by hitting the Paste command.
