i just returned from wal-mart & for the first time i came home in a good mood. i first went to the bass pro shop to buy shotgun shells. the price on the shelf was 7.99 a box for 20 gauge remington express #4 shot. i get to counter and the box rings up to 11.99. well after 20 minutes of waiting and talking to a manager (i use this term loosely) they would not drop the price below 9.99. this was supposed to be the correct price he said. i then walked back to the hunting section a proceded to tell everyone there what happened (in a loud voice) it started with attention eveyone that does not want to be ripped off by this store.......... to make a long story short i was escorted out by 2 officers. i then went to wal-mart and the old guy behind the counter bent over backwards to try to find me the shells i wanted. he found 2 boxes which i purchased. on the way out the door checker saw the shells in the see thru bag i had and said " well going shooting sounds like fun wish i could go" this was about a 60+ year old lady. i smiled and wished her a good day. by the way the same shells were 7.88 at wal-mart

I did that about a year ago when I was lied to by a manager. Told them I wouldn’t shop there again until they could confirm that lying to costumers is not their policy. I never heard back. I don’t bother shopping at wal-mart anymore. How about we all come up with a name and address that we all use when these places want out personal info. Could be a good laugh when stores around the country start getting the same info on a fictitious person. How does John Michelson of 427 Birchwood Street in Tucson AZ sound?
P.s. Have i told you walmart sucks?

Sheeyit!! You mean bluewolf w/ 370+ posts is Mrs. BeerSlayer? Where the hell have I been? [BD] I'm in the same sort of boat you guys are in. Only I have to drive 25 miles to go shopping. I really try not to buy anything out of the sporting goods area just to avoid the hassles. But I've never had problems with the Electronics dept., that's where I buy most of my movies, music and non-technical computer stuff.

It's a conspiracy. Kofi Annan is behind it. Did the counter help have a blue helmet? Register radios. It's for the children! When radios are outlawed only outlaws will have radios. They'll get my radio when they pry it from my cold dead dashboard. Did I miss any cliches?

Vhy yes, my young, cockroach-deewouringk friend! Ever noticed that you can't buy a radio with the LW and SW bands anymore? That's because those, if set to the right frequency, would reveal the secret, subliminal messages broadcast by your microwave. (microwave, shortwave, coinky-dink? Methinks not!)

Okay, about the fact that we have products made in other countries. Does every other store have ONLY U.S. made products? And I know that after TLE closes, you have to go to sporting goods or electronics to buy car audio products in our store. Is a loss prevention policy. Never heard of the registering thing, though. But I have never bought car audio products at the store..... Scott

No offense, but it is sort of silly to balk at giving them your info for the "warranty", since you were basically going to give them the same thing anyways as soon as you paid by CC. I realized this a year or so ago when I refused to get one of those "Preferred Customer" cards from my grocery store when they started requiring them for all sale prices. Then I realized I was still using my debit card to pay for my purchases. Easier for them to track the purchases with their card, but you'd be naive to think they don't know exactly who you are, where you live etc. the second you swipe that card. If you don't want your purchases tracked/logged, etc just about the only solution is to pay by cash. Rocko

oh you can get help there, no problem at all. just pick up their phones and hit the intercome button "Attention Kmart Shoppers There is ABSOLUTLY NO HELP IN XYZ Section!" this will get you a response and help damn fast. after asking passing walmart emps to get the guy with the keys to the ammo case i picked up the phone got their attention.. a manager was there in less than 15 seconds, asked why i used the intercom, i told him the story. he smiled and said the intercom was for employee use only. then went and found the moron with the keys. got me my ammo. i bought it and wandered around the store getting the rest of what i needed. didnt escort me out or nothing. later that week i saw the same manager at the range. good guy in general.
Link Posted: 8/18/2002 3:21:49 PM EDT
that reminds me of the time that i was in kmart and someone picked up the phone in automotive and said if somebody does not hurry up and help me in a couple of minutes i am going to start stealing things. i laughed my ass off.

I posted something to the same effect a couple months ago. Bought a 12 gauge over-under and got treated like I had just robbed the place. I will not buy from Walmart again. They can kiss me where the skin turns pink. Tanker

Guys, You have to do me a personal favor, you have to keep buying from walmart (wmt), as I have tons of their stock, and would be highly displeased if anything but positive numbers flowed form same. Thanks in advance!

Scott, can you confirm something I heard recently, that companies that supply products to Walmart do not warrantee those products, but rather, that Walmart warrantees the products; and if something goes wrong, you MUST return the item to Walmart?
Link Posted: 8/19/2002 10:32:57 AM EDT
I too have had some run ins with the sporting goods dept. at my Wal-Mart. The first few I bit my tounge and then finaly talked to the store manager. Problem has since been rectified. As I looked back, my problem wasn't with Wal-Mart, but with a few employees. This can be found anywhere. Now, in Wal-Marts defense, I hit them up recently for a donation for our annual fishing rodeo and they donated about $100 worth of gear. I found this to be a nice gesture and went back a month later and asked them to cut me a deal on an 870 I wanted to give away at Hunter Safety Education. They agreed to sell me one at cost, but the kid that won it needed a left hand gun. Wal-mart made up the difference in price. All in all, if I deal with the sporting goods manager or store manager and not some flunkie stock boy I have pretty good luck. Might just be my store though. Walmart is the only thing closer that at least an hour away.

Iceman, I got my mom a replacement VCR recently. I was told to keep the receipt, in case it needed servicing. My understanding has always been that the Wal*Mart warranty lasts longer than the one from the manufacturer. But I may be wrong. Mike, On checking my profile, I noticed this forum does not have a occupation field, like many forums do. Scott P.S. Mike, sent a IM...
