Do you carry any last ditch fighting weapons with your firearms? If so what?
Here's my SHTF picks...[}:D] Cold Steel Vietnam Tomahawk and Becker Combat Bowie. |

In a carry situation, out and about and something goes wrong: Once the Glock G27 I carry is empty (21 JHP's, 10 ball) I would use my AR15.COM Tactical folder:
If it were a SHTF situation and I was at home: After many different firearms had been emptied, I could go to my Compound Bow, a couple of different knives, or most likely an Aluminum Baseball Bat. (Louisville Slugger TPS). |

Hell when I'm out of ammo - there'd be damn few people left alive in the county. I figure tripping and falling off the mountain of the dead and dieing would be good enough. Long fall from way up there [:)] - I have more than enough ammo stocked to wear out a couple of barrels.
Got the standard bayonet for poking and a number of samurai quality swords including a nice two handed no-dachi. [edited to add - ah hell did I just admit to being a mall ninja?] |

KA-BAR D2 Extreme. Microtech Socom Elite. Various other sharps. But I am a deadly weapon after 15 years of martial arts. I had a guy today say that I'm probably more deadly with a knife at close range than I am with a gun. I would tend to agree.

At arms length distance it's a toss up between bladed weapons and guns. I think I could cause a lot of damage with my hawk and Bowie at CQB ranges. Remember Mel Gibson in "The Patriot"?? |

Lemme guess, grab the flintlock first, and if that doesn't work, work your way up through the years?

Beer. And plenty of it. Laughing are we? It's cover&concealment (hide behind the minimum 100 cases you SHOULD have stocked), a weapon AND sustainment. Ever get hit on the noggin with a full 16 oz Bud? I knocked a guy out that way. It was dented, but still drinkable. It degraded my fighting position though (empties).

I gather it would take an awful lot to get to the point of Ø ammo for most of us. That coupled with a properly defended position (refrence Ospreys foto above)It should never end with blades, but I'm prepared there too [:)]
And I'd like to remind you all of one important factor that seems to be overlooked most of the time, especially with the movies.. The SPOILS OF WAR! you can get some cool stuff this way [:D] and last, but not least... Hand-to-Hand. You can take it everywhere, it easily concealed and there is no need for an illegal permit to have and or carry it. [:)] |

View Quote No it's the Cold Vietnam Tomahwk and it only costs $25, plus time to do some modifications. The one your ar talking about is the America Tomahawk Corp. which osts $165. It is very nice and I will be getting one soon. The Cold Steel you see pictured surprised me for what I paid for it. I've demolished concrete blocks with it and chopped decking nails in half, not to mention all the throws I did with it and the head is till tight as new! Yes, I can throw it and it sticks very well! [:D] I haven't tried it on a person .... yet.[}:D] |

[:D] Tomahawk goes in a Kydex sheath on my back hande down to about my right kidney and Bowie on left side in a drop down sheath. If I wearing a pack the Tomahawks kydex sheathe gets strapped tightly on the packs right side where I can get to it with my right hand. Or I can use another custon setup like this. At one point in my life, I knew how to say "Don't kill me! I know secrets!" in four languages (old MI joke). Discretion is the better part of valor. Slink away, unseen.
Run out of ammo? That isn't a realistic question to ask members of this board. The question should be: So, SHTF, all guns melted down from overheating, what else do you got? |
|
Whay would you run out of ammo? WHen getting low, you know it's time to capture more, or another system. ANd, there's always "Fix Bayonets!"
