I seen it on the KTVU news station last night. It showed the guys weapons. He had a postban AK (thumbhole stock), AR15 (which they said was an illegal M16), some type of .308 SUR (looked like an HK), and some other firearms. They said that the man was stockpiling ammo and weapons. The man was charged with making booby traps. I can't seem to find a link.

I no longer consider California to be part of the United States.

Every time I see a headline like this, I catch my breath. Poor bastard.

Check out page B9 of the Wall Street Journal. ATF is running their usual seized property notice: in the first column, there is a california seziure of a number of HK, AR-15, Bushmaster, and Augs among others. Quite a valuable collection.

Wow, that is a nice collection. I count 8 H&K, 2 FAL, 12 ARs, 3 Robinsons - and that is only about 1/3 of it. There is an M-60 and a LAW too. I guess the government will just destroy this stuff. Too bad; I am sure if they brought it to auction we would all do our part to bring down the deficit. [:D]

Again, what did this man do wrong?..... Did he fail to register those weapons? (California law) or what happens?

And of course you cannot purchase any semi-auto pistol that doesn't have an external safety....and you pay 10 -12% State Income Tax...and it costs you 2% of the value of your car to get a registration sticker each year....and YOU CANNOT GET A CONCEALED HANDGUN LICENSE! I lived there 3 years, thanx.....fricking police state!

kalifornistas, kalikremlin, calinazis... I am SO GLAD I don't live in CA!!!! Heres the deal a few freinds of mine who live in San Diego Camp Pendelton area boys, got busted BIG time! The local Kalifornista media had a freakin field day! Claiming illegal "machine guns were found" and a "stash of 50,000 rounds" "illegal M-4's were taken from the group" I for one cannot believe this is happening in this country. Step by little step our freedom is being dismantled by the Government, the guy in the above story should have given them his guns bullets FIRST.

The FNG post is right California is not really part of my AMERICA! So called assualt weapons will be taken first then mark my words people in California will be completly DISARMED!

Well, we would probably be the fourth largest economy if more than 4% of "Deadly Assault Rifles" owners registered their weapons of mass destruction. Luckily for me, I don't smoke or that damn cig tax and the no smoking law would upset me. Where does it say that you can kidnap, rape, and murder little girls? I think those bad guys did that out side the law.

As if the Kali economy was completely seperate from the rest of the country! What a joke! "Weapons of mass destruction"????? You are kidding, right? pertaining to the smoking tirade, another freedom loving person. Take away other's freedoms, but leave mine alone. Yeah, those guys did that outside (one word, not two) after being let off on previous crimes against children. I take it you are not a gun owner.

LOL!!! Chill out. Fortune magazine named California as the 5th largest economy in the world. I was kidding about the weapons of mass destruction. An AR-15 is just a gun. Sjsample brought up the smoking thing, so I belittled it. I don't care where you live, crime aganist children can happen at any time, not just California. I own a Sig Sauer 220 in .45...and some others.

Leaving off Sacramento, Frisco, and LA, California is a pretty great place. I like San Diego and believe it is worth saving so it is not mentioned as an evil urban dwelling place.

I'm just backing my state up. I get tired of hearing all the California bashing. I've lived in Utah, Michigan, Florida, and California. By far, California is the best state IMHO. BTW, for all you Cali haters, if you watch TV, you're supporting Cali. Where do you think those shows come from?

With the nut cases in California, I don't think letting them carry a gun, concealed or otherwise would be a good idea. My government doesn't treat law abiding citizens like criminals, either. Again, with the nut cases in California, Ar's, ak's, and calico's wouldn't be a good idea. The tax thing is good. That's why California corps are setting up in NV, but making money in Cali. You NEED new roads, hospitals, police stations, fire stations, because there's virtually nothing in your state. Nevada's biggest industry is tourism. You cater to us, the Californians who go to Vegas and Reno and Tahoe. [:D]

We defeated the .50 ban in April. It's likely our success will set a precedent, resulting in the defeat of other state bans or a federal ban. Thank you for your support.

When you have 34 million people a lot of things happen more than in other states. I do not believe we have the market cornered on crimes against children.

I have to side with John91498. California is a great state that's far too popular with the rest of the country. As a native born Californian whose parents came here in the 1920's and 40's, I have to say that most of the anti-gun types seem to be from out of state to work or attend school. I grew up at the end of the agricultural period in the Silicon Valley and most of the natives I know are pro-gun or gun owners. It's mostly the people who've never worked with their hands that have a negative view of firearms. People who's parents paid their way through college and whom never had to work a real job during highschool or college and never dealt with real people. I want to add that last year I was in the San Diego area and I attended the Del Mar gun show. I saw a news crew at the gate. When I asked them what they were covering, the cameraman said that they were working in the area and they were just checking it out. We got to talking and he told me that most of the guys he worked with in the San Diego area are pro-gun and they do a lot of shooting out in the desert. Walking the show with them I could tell he new quite a bit about firearms from a users perspective.
