Well said Talbalos. It is the recent out-of-state transplants that screwed this state up. Not the long-time residents. It seems to be the so-called higher-educated types from the east coast that think their blood is blue and the ticks who come here because of the generous handouts.

Actually, you guys in "free" states might consider cutting us some slack since we're on the front line trying to defeat these BS state bills, which if passed, very often become federal law down the line.

Instead, a lot of you bad-mouth us non stop, based on what you see on television. I have to wonder how many of you have actually spent time in the state.

CA simply follows the normal pattern of evolution. Anytime you have a state whose primary economy is knowledge based, you tend to attract knowledge workers, who unfortunately also tend to be liberal. Add to that the universities, the intelligentsia, mass media, and the number of nutcases moving west to "find themselves", and the outcome is predictable.

You guys should thank us for housing your nut cases and idealists seeking gold at the end of rainbow.

The level of vice in the Bay Area pales in comparison to what's happening in Las Vegas, but I admit our state govt. sucks.

However, if NV keeps on its current track, you will see a mini-CA in the making. Look at Las Vegas. Look at the demographics, the increase in union workers, the expanding service economy. You think those folks vote GOP? I think not! Look at the political affiliation of your congressmen from Las Vegas and Reno. Those two cities will be the death of your state, as LA and SF our to us.

It's just a matter of time. If you're lucky, you'll get an influx of CA retirees to help keep things in favor of the GOP.

Bashing each other's states serves no positive purpose for us.  Remember that what has happened in Kali can easily happen in any state - especially in states that have one single population center.

I managed to talk to a California resident who is as annoyed w/ his state too.  He was a 'nut' grower...Almods or Picans (can't recall).  Basically, a farmer, a business owner.

But you are right.  It can happen to any state.  Washington is getting a lot of Kalifornians  in it.... YUK.

Our Governor just killed some legislation that would have recognised (sp) the CWP of Alaska.  Alaska was going to recognise ours, but only if we did theirs.  Great work Govt. Locke... idiot.  He's a great guy (person.... I've met him), but as a politician, sorry.  Don't agree w/ your politics.
