My little Mark II fits together so tightly that I hate cleaning it - and it does fill with grit.

I agree.  The gun I look forward to cleaning the least tonight is my Ruger 10/22.

I'm sorry but I have to chime in here.

The 10/22 is one of the easiest to take apart to clean...mine is circa '65...Unless things have changed...and the basic design is still the same...why are you guy's having a problem???

Just curious.[?]

The Mk.IIs are definitely a bitch, My 10/22 I just blast with Gun Scrubber and Bore Snake the barrel, I might take it completely apart once a year, but I don't find it all that difficult.

Ya gotta love the GP-100 though, who else makes a modern DA revolver that comes apart so easily and quickly? [8D]

Don't, I repeat DON'T Remove the grip frame on the Single Six .22 revolver. That would be a bad idea.

I have a vintage '78 and '96 10/22 and they are easy.

My Mkll isn't too bad if I take it apart on a regular basis. As it is, I would need the manual because it's been a while. It's not bad, but it ain't the easiest.

My Blackhawk and New Model Blackhawk are about the same as the Mkll.

Never had a problem with my 10/22, but I agree about the Mark II.

I keep meaning to check into that kit that's supposed to make the Mark II easy to take apart and put back together.  Anyone know who makes that thing?

The Mini-14 I had (sold due to layoffs, otherwise would still have it, to answer any remarks) was easy to clean and my P-series pistols are a breeze.

Reassembling a MkII is not intuitive - you need the instruction manual.  And it's tighter than a virgin when new.  But once you've done it two or three times, it's no big deal.

The first time I stripped my 10-22 it took me a bit to get it back together, but I did it.  I wouldn't want to disassemble the trigger assembly, though.
