And that there would be people out there that actually listened to them. Realistically, do you really believe that the founding fathers thought that there would ever be a woman in the senate? Not to mention, people actually believing there might be one as fucking stupid as Hillary Clinton elected president.

Perhaps, perhaps not, but they were quite aware of what happened in the garden. They did NOT give women the right to vote...

Why does every pathetic argument include this?  It is hard to believe that people are so ignorant as to believe that the FFs "didn't" or "couldn't" imagine that what they wrote into the Constitution could be perverted and abused.  It is absolutely certain in my mind that anybody who rolls out such an arguement does NOT know what they are talking about; the Federalist Papers specifically addressed several possible abuses that requires vigilance to guard against.
What the Founding Fathers did not foresee is ignorant people who would assume that the FFs were equally ignorant.  [V]

But our forefathers failed to imagine people who would drape themselves in second amendment rights, arm their children with semi-automatic weapons, and train them to shoot at pictures of people. Who knew?

Ahhhh... now THAT'S better!!

That should keep the people from owning semi-automatic weapons and shooting school children. [rolleyes]

At least they were both armed.  Now only one is generally armed, and he's the one that goes up for murder.

Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...

Now, it's "drive-by's".
What did they call it in the Roaring Twenties? A HIT.
From the original Star Trek episode, "A Piece of the Action":
Cracko and Bella Oxmix would be proud.

What the founding fathers never envisioned, was a land where the citizenry was so vastly outgunned by the govt, as to have little practical means of resistance. That, in a nushell, is what "necessary to the security of a free state" means.

I'm not even gonna respond to what this idiot mommydearest wrote on her website becuase it is obvious that she is a lost cause.

The bigger issue is how people like her are brainwashed into thinking that guns are so evil. These people truely have no facts to base their opinions on, and in a way I almost feel sorry for them becuase they are so ignorant. People like the person who put up this website have NO firsthand knowledge of firearms. Everything they think has been spoon fed to them by the media. If you and no one in your family are not gun enthusiasts then the only place you are gonna get your info about guns is the media.

I'm beginning to think that maybe the NRA should start spending money on TV advertising campaigns to show the positive things about guns. We wouldn't have to saturate the airwaves, but a little could have some positive affects.

The 10 amendments are all incredibly carefully constructed. Unlike laws today, they are short, consise, and incredibly clear. When anyone takes one of them and starts off with "what they really meant was..." it's an insult to everything that the text is.

The idea that we today can improve on them and interpret behind the words and alter the meaning is laughable. I wouldn't want to imagine what it would look like people today had to rewrite the Constitution and particularly the Bill of Rights.
