I've never been able to watch Marx Brothers movies, W. C. Fields, Laurel and Hardy, among others. Can't stand them.
There was a time, thirty years ago, that I even tried to hide my dislike for, what everybody else, celebrated. Of course, that was during my hippie days, shudder.
Not anymore!
What movies do you hate, that most people love?

Woody Allen.

What the hell is it about his movies that makes critics and people wet their panties? I've seen two of his movies, the second one Mighty Aphrodite by accident not realizing it was one of his movies until he appeared, and I've been thoroughly bored with them. Not funny at all.

But a lot of other people love him. [whacko]

American Beauty.
This is Hollywood's take on life for the rest of us.  I can't believe that movie got the press (and awards) that it did.  At least I know why Bill Clinton liked it.

I watched billy madison for the first time last night.

F'in DUMB!!
That movie was probably one of the stupidest movies I've ever seen.

Another that comes to mind is Being John Malkovich (however you spell his name)

First of all that actor isn't that great, his only good performance is on Rounders, so why make a movie around him? Plus the Movie stunk!!

Though most everyone on this board liked it I found "The Patriot" a poor melodramatic remake of Braveheart. I also can not stand the Austin Powers movies.  That accent of his drives me nuts.

Pretty Woman.

Richard Gere and Julia Roberts:  2 liberals in LA-LA Land who wouldn't know the difference between TV nightly news and MTV's Real World.

I liked "Fargo."  I thought it was hysterical, although I don't believe it was intended to be a comedy - maybe a black comedy.

His first movies (Take the Money and Run, and Bananas, and Sleeper) were hysterical. All the rest have sucked. Those three are truly funny, though, and worth a rent if you like comedy.

'being john mackavich' takes the cake for me.

some art-z director dickhead threw such trite "creative" elements into a hopelessly plotted turd of a film, thinking it would all hold together based on the assumption that "the general population couldn't possibly be as creative as me" mentality. thus the events & dialog would somehow capture our limited/inferior imaginations with 1 dimmentional charactors.

- from start to finish, the film's contents reeks of a sticky-piss-coated bathroom floor belonging to the common off campus cafe, located right by the under-funded art department.

GOD I HATE THAT MOVIE!!!

oh yea, death race 2000 kicks ass!!

I'm with Crookshanks on the old "comedies."  Just don't get them.  Maybe it was funny 70 years ago but I never could watch them.

I'd have to say "Apocalypse Now" was a tremendous snoozefest.  I literally fell asleep after about two hours.  Even the M-16's couldn't save it.  I never did find out what the hell Marlon Brando was doing, and I'll never be able to watch it again to find out.

I don't see how making you a child molester makes you popular with the Hollywood fags.  If anything, it's the fact that his Jewishness resonates with the Jews who really DO own Hollywood.  Woody might have his moments, but I can't watch him.  His best movie was the one he never appeared in, "What's Up, Tiger Lily?"

I won't dispute the Jewish thing (just read thru lists of teh rich and powerful in the entertainemnt industry to see that that is true) , but I still say the fags love Woody. Not sure whether his moral degeneracy makes them feel like ALL sexuality is OK (even theirs) or if they look at him and say "At least we don't rape our own children" and so they feel good about themselves.

Today, homosexuality has inundated nearly EVERY TV show. Even childrens TV. They mean to run the world. And Woody Allen presents NO moral challenge to them.

Speaking of the homosect-shewals, it's funny that they make up, say 5-9% of the overall population, yet in nearly every group of people on television (reality shows, sitcoms, etc.) they have a "representative."

It's as if they want you to think 20-25% of the population is (that way).

By todays standards "DDD" is sub-par. But it's a classic.

"Titanic" sucked hard!

Ever seen "Eraserhead"?  Cult classic. Critics loved it.

Reservoir dogs- Just stupid violence for shock value alone. To think this POS floater put Tarantino on the map...my God.

Fargo- I guess if Steve Buscemi is in it, it's supposed to make it quirky and artsy. What a boring movie.

Pretty woman- Julie Roberts is one of the plainest looking women I can imagine. Her legs are too damned skinny and her lips look like they've been smeared across her face.

Clerks- whoop-de-fuckin-do...I grew up knowing these kind of people. There's absolutely nothing interesting about them or what they do at their jobs.

Pretty much any Woody allen movie... people that live in NY must eat this shit up because I don't know anyone who enjoys his movies.

There's probably more, but I'm so repulsed that people made fortunes on this garbage that I've gotta go take a dump.

The American President: What a festering bucket of dog vomit!!

An Alan "Crackhead" Sorkin attempt to denigrate everything conservative and deify everything liberal. It even ends with a 15minute elitist and sanctimoniously insulting "lecture" from Micheal Douglas (the Oh-I'm-So-Intelligent-And-Caring President) to us lowly neanderthals in the audience on the virtures of liberalism and the evils of conservatism.

Gene, I gave it five buckets of puke for it's non-stop assault on conservativism and blatant ideological endorsement of everything liberal -
[puke][puke][puke][puke][puke]

ET.

Most Disney movies except Toy Story 1&2.

anything with Tom Cruise in it except Top Gun and Interview with a Vampire.

Nearly all slasher type films where really pretty women get killed. Yuck!!!!

The Thin Red Line. How did this junk win any award?

Higher Learning. PC trash that creates more streotypes then it disputes. Only good character was the Professor. Of course a white "christian" male is a neo-nazi that has to prove the superiorty of his race by killing non-whites. Utter garbage!!

Actually, I like Tom Hanks, Kevin Spacy, and Quentin Tarantino.  American Beauty and Fargo were pretty good I thought.

Bad Ones:

Every movie made by Sylvester Stallone after Rocky I.

Richard Gere.  As one reviewer put it, "How can an actor who attempts to convey every conceivable emotion by quickly blinking his eyes maintain a career for 25 years?"

And Keanu Reeves is even worse than Richard Gere.

Everything made by Richard Donner, that prick.

Yes, it was a black comedy.  Most people took it way to seriously.  I laugh my butt off through the whole movie.  A lot of people in the upper midwest were offended by it, but I loved it.  I live in Fargo, by the way.

Haven't been to or watched more than eight movies in the last ten years.  This includes TV and video.

Only way I'll consider spending my time, money and attention is if somebody I know recommends a movie HIGHLY.

From the way they treat us, fargin' Hollywood doesn't deserve what they get from the American people.

It goes without saying, any Woody Allen movie sucks.

The one that I hated that everybody else liked was M*A*S*H.  Worst piece of left wing commie crap I have ever seen.  Big slap in the face to the brave men who fought in Korea and Vietnam.
