Saw a program on History or Discovery Channel called "The Most" or something. I think the porcupine beat the skunk and it came second. Anyone else remember who won.Not counting that guy who sat next me in english class in high school.

I saw it, but can't remember. IIRC, skunk was not in the top five.....

Not having come into close contact with most of the animals previously mentioned... although I did play with a pet skunk as a child, but he was descented.... I would pick something foul that I do know stinks.... A HOUND DOG.

WTF is up with these dogs?!?!  I know they have overproductive sebacious glands but geezzzzz..... [rolleyes]

I can wash my hound dog, Lucy, and she stinks again in two days.  I love her to death... she's the simplest, happiest dog I've ever had... but the stench is just nasty!

Didn't see the show but personally I think mink are worse than skunks. Judging by all the skunks we shot as kids and the "pet" baby mink we found in our barn.

I'm pretty sure it's the French-Canadians.

My vote is the 'possum, after he's been cut open with a katana.  Big mistake.  So much for not wanting to disturb the neighbors with a gunshot. Whew! The stench!

The stinkiest animal is a dead animal.  You haven't smelled True Stink until you've encountered a 3-week-old beached whale carcass.

The stinkiest living things are those huge flowers that smell like rotting flesh.

I think the stinkiest animal on the planet is this soldier named SPC McGowan, who i had the displeasure of sharing a GP medium with for thirty days during a field excercise in Hohenfels, Germany.  no, there weren't any showers, but at least some of us knew how to use baby wipes and deodorant daily...

The zorilla is the smelliest animal on the planet. It's anal glands can be smelled from half a mile away.
