I liked the old Andy Griffith show as a kid.
Never knew the guy, other than what I read about him. Lots of people aren't what their personas make them appear to be. Someone cue up the Animal Muther "Better you than me" pic. LC |

About time that socialist kicked the bucket. Was he? I never knew much about him, other than what he did professionally. I don't know, I liked Andy and I liked his work, but I don't really need to know this. |

Quoted: IBTL. Only in ARFCOM GD would a thread about Andy Griffith's death turn into an internet pissing match . To some people politics is life. He did what he loved his whole and was successful at it. Wish I could say the same. |

"I'M BATSHIT CRAZY ABOUT POLITICS AND HAVE TO INTERJECT THEM INTO EVERYTHING!" http://i.imgur.com/LZV0G.jpg He was a fine actor, and I love the Any Griffith show, but I think I reserve the right to call an asshole an asshole. One wonders what will be said upon your passing |

Lol oh ok the guy on that Don Knotts show
Don Knotts is funny guy. He is like a muppet, but real people instead Don Knotts |
|
I loved Andy for what he was, and actor with country roots, who did a fine job of portraying small town life. My mothers home town, where I visited often as a child, was a Replica of Mayberry.
So I give him his due, as an entertainer, and could care less about his politics. Yen & Yang; if everybody agreed with us, we wouldn't have anything to talk about....... Shame he passed, but he had a long, successful life. May we all do as well. |

There were no homosexuals, non-Christians, or non-white people in Mayberry. Even Gomer Pyle had a girlfriend.

|
Quoted: I worked with a guy who had previously been on many production crews for early television series. He confirmed what several have stated here: Griffith was an arrogant, hotheaded PITA to work with. The only one he disliked more was Linda Carter (Wonder Woman) - "the nastiest bitch to ever walk this earth". On a more positive note, he said one of the finest people he'd ever met was Alan Hale, Jr., who played the captain on "Gilligan's Island". Hale would go to extraordinary lengths to befriend and help people, no matter what their station in life. He was universally loved by all who worked with him. Yep, Hale was a great guy from what I read |

STAY CLASSY ARFCOM
With all the death announcements made here in GD, it has never once crossed my mind to post a disrespectful, or derogatory remark about an individual upon their death. It is classless and tasteless no matter what I happen to dispise about the recently deceased person. I'm surprised, maybe not, that the mods let it happen and let it become permanent public record for the world to see. I would think that some the mods would hold the reputation of the site in a higher regard. Its one thing to dislike a person or disagree with their opinions. Its quite another to publicly dance on their graves. |

I always heard he verbally abused any fans of the show who "had the nerve" to approach him. A real live jerk. I saw an interview of one of the cast years ago that stated that he was a giant asshole to work with. They all lived in fear of getting a "Monday morning" phone call from him stating that he was 'unhappy" with their past week's performance. |

I remember the episode of the Danny Thomas Show, where the character of Sheriff Taylor was first introduced.
RIP Andy, regardless of your wrong politics. |

I for one, am not going to dance on the socialist douchebag's grave; I'll just say that I am glad that he can (supposedly) no longer vote.

He got into the heads of frail seniors and told them How to vote or else evil republicans will end Medicare and they would never see their grand kids again. All known, calculated lies. He knew what he was doing. The only good commie is a what? |

Well, he probably took comfort in knowing that his political affiliation won't change after death.
|

The only good commie is a what? According to my old man, one that has swallowed a molotov cocktail inside his T34 in downtown Budapest.

No...it's what my Grandfather (who knew him personally) and many of the other locals around Manteo, NC (where he had a home) say. He was a true prick according to them. Then, he goes to bat for our soon to be ex-governor Bev Perdue taking about how she would be a "goood governor". Looks like he got that wrong as well. |

I love the Andy Griffith Show. Absolutely. Still watch it.
But I'm not going to mourn a dead communist. They are enemies of Liberty and the Republic. |

His far left politics sucked.
Don't know if with age he just bacame a doddering old fool. Or had always been that way. But still the Mayberry thing was funny in it's day. RIP Andy. GD |
