My upstairs central A/C went tits up on me the other day, and I posted a thread asking for some help from those knowledgeable in that arcane, mystical art.

Sure as God made little green apples, The AR15.Com Heating and Air Conditioning Army vectored me in on the solution, and mi casa is once again muy frio, and for about what it would have cost me to have a service truck drive up to my house, before the tech even got out of the truck.

Edited to add specifically: All my thanks, felicitations and ice cold Jack and Cokes to the AR15.Com Heating and Air Conditioning Army. Couldn't have, wouldn't have, done it without your help. I'd be writing a check to Bubba's A/C Repair sometime tomorrow equal to the GDP of Uruguay if it wasn't for you guys.

May your trousers never split, may your avocados never be overripe and may you never burn the roof of your mouth on a bite of hot pizza cheese.

I was considering sending back the home lobotomy kit but now I am certain these guys could talk me through that, too.

No, that means that my wife and I get to eat food for the second half of July instead of going on the "dead bugs from behind the refrigerator" diet.

No joke, thebeekeeper1. I said something just like that to my wife last night.

Need to know the bone density of the perigrine falcon? The airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? The atomic number of lithium? The coefficient of friction of buffalo snot?

Somebody here can hook you up.

Would that buffalo snot be wet or dry?  The K-factor would depend on moisture content.

Seriously, glad to see that you got the thing running with the new cap, and everything is "cool", so to speak.

Semper Fi!

At what temperature and moisture content do you want the coefficient of friction of buffalo snot?

I've always told my friends that they could forget going to Consumer Reports for info on items they wish to purchase.

Just post what you want to buy on this site and ask for input.

Thirty minutes and 40 replies later, there will be a consensus on just what the best buy on that item is in the real world!

Can't beat that!

BTW, Jarhead_22, congrats on the air conditioning fix!

I'm stoked, and I can't wait to see my wife's face when she gets home and experiences the coolth, the utter unstankyhotness, of the upstairs.

Another true benefit of this place.  If anyone ever thought a membership wasn't worth it, here is testimony that it is!

To all who helped him, that is awesome!

Now, who wants to help me do some surgery on my dog?

Nope, but if you still hadn't figured out what panel to remove I could have helped.
As for surgery, I can't stand the sight of blood. Sorry.

I'd like to thank everyone again also. I'm ok eating regular garden insects and spiders until payday but running into something like that makes you think about selling the kids. It was a relief to know we'd make it on that spider.[:X*]

Seriously, it's really cool when you  know there are people in this world smarter than you are, and most of them are here!
