"The store's morning manager, Chris Jacoby, 20, added: ''As misled as he might have been, he actively stood up for something he believed in. Wherever that leads, it's a lot more noble than what I see in some kids out here who go into the [military] service.'"

What a cock of shit. This coming form a guy who works as a record store clerk.

Jeez, where did they dig up all these scumbags?  Don't they realize that Johnny Taliban was fighting against everything they are for?  The Taliban stood for oppression of women, free expression, and everything else that they enjoy in this country.  If they think that ol' Johnny is such a great guy and had such a moral cause, then why don't they emigrate to Afghanistan?  What a bunch of cocksuckers!

Down the street, with a book on Quabalistic Tarot spirituality opened before him, Augustine Garcia said he understood the cynicism that Lindh may have felt growing up in Marin County. Garcia, who has worked as a circus clown, salesman, and drug and alcohol counselor, has lived in his 1975 Dodge van for six months and cannot afford a home. Garcia is no fan of the American way.

Gee, I wonder why people in that town have any cynicism.  They are a bunch of lazy assholes with Garcia a perfect example.  Look at his work record.  He is no fan of the American way, in other words, he wants a socialist government to take care of him.  Apparently the entire town is that way, thus the cynicism because it isn't.

The store's morning manager, Chris Jacoby, 20, added: ''As misled as he might have been, he actively stood up for something he believed in. Wherever that leads, it's a lot more noble than what I see in some kids out here who go into the [military] service.''

This is enough to make one's blood boil.  Can we call an airstrike on this store with those 'less than noble' military types flying the planes.

Well, I'm not a peabrained lazy a-hole but I have yet to see any evidence that Johnny Jihad was anything more than an irresponsible kid, doing something stupid, and got caught at the wrong time.

He joined the Taliban before 9/11 and before anyone on this board even knew what the hell the Taliban was. Sure, they're a bunch of violent womenbeating thugs, but until 9/11 who gave a shit? It's their corner of the world, let them do what they want. It wasn't the Taliban that flew the planes into the WTC, it was a separate terrorist org that the Taliban simply allowed to remain in Afghanistan.

I'm willing to bet big money that Lindh had nothing to do with 9/11, the death of CIA Agent Spann, the prison uprising, or anything else that people are associating him with. Just because he was there with them doesn't mean he had anything to do with it. The fact that the govt let him plead to non-terrorism charges supports my argument. I'd bet big money that he would have been acquitted at trial of most if not all of the charges. Personally, I think he's been railroaded since day 1. I'm willing to bet that some of the people at Gitmo are innocent too. Which is not to say that some of them aren't dangerous.

The U.S. Govt has taken a very cavalier attitude and played fast and loose recently with the issue of who is a terrorist and who isn't. It's starting to irritate me.

Flame suit on.
