We're talking about a place where AIDS education is depserately needed because people believe they can chop up people and eat certain body parts or stews that will cure them, or that having sex with a young girl will cure a man. Unless you plan on flying over there and educating them yourself, and I know I'm not planning on doing it, then I can't see what problem you could have with an HIV+ muppet in South Africa. While it does raise some questions about indoctrination of children and medias' responsibility and true purpose, I don't have a real problem with them doing it. I have a problem that the South African people are so ignorant that it has to be done so these backwater idiots can figure out what's killing them. Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas... I do agree with you that SA has got to be a pretty bass-ackward, screwed up country if they have to rely on the young children to educate their parents on this issue (or any other, for that matter). |

We can no longer say one nation under god because it is too damning to our children, but we can have HIV positive characters on sesame street....I hate to be negative but when you look at things like this, how can you come to any conclusion other than than the one that says our country is damned, and is there is no way to ever get it back to where it was or should be?
