Seems like all the wal marts here quit carrying any guns. And half of them make you give them your id so they can copy all your info in a log for the Maryland State Police.

I wouldn't mind having a DPMS AR-10 but I think I'm going Blackout now.

All my local Walmarts quit carrying firearms. Then last week I walked into one and the gun cases were back and they contained ARs. I read somewhere that Walmart was reversing the decision to remove gun sales in some areas.

What magazines does that rifle take? I could be tempted to buy one at that price. Sell the barrel, put a better barrel and stock and trigger on it, and be money ahead of building from scratch - if it takes commonly available mags.

That's pretty damn awesome. A .308 AR platform is a deadly weapon, not doubt about that.

Tim Blair The Daily Telegraph Wednesday, April 13, 2011 (3:36am) Former Al Gore senior aide Leslie Dach dared to dream: In July 2006, Dach was installed as the public relations chief for Wal-Mart. He drafted a number of other progressives into the company, seeking to change the company’s way of doing business: its culture, its politics, and most importantly its products. Out went drab, inexpensive merchandise so dear to low-income Americans. In came upscale organic foods, “green” products, trendy jeans, and political correctness. In other words, Dach sought to expose poor working Americans to the “good life” of the wealthy, environmentally conscious Prius driver. How did that all work out? After suffering seven straight quarters of losses, today the merchandise giant Wal-Mart will announce that it is “going back to basics,” ending its era of high-end organic foods, going “green,” and the remainder of its appeal to the upscale market. Next month the company will launch an “It’s Back” campaign to woo the millions of customers who have fled the store. Further from the Wall Street Journal: Starting in May, Wal-Mart shoppers in the U.S. will see signs in stores heralding the return of fishing tackle, bolts of fabric and other ‘heritage’ merchandise that Wal-Mart reduced or cut out altogether as it attempted to spruce up its stores ... There’s a lesson here for all manner of mass-consumer businesses. |

I am just glad Wally World is carrying them. Beats the heck out of a Remington model 742. "Honey, I need a new deer rifle."

I heard that Walmart is bringing back their lay-a-way. If so I just might get one of these. I still would have rather have another AR-10. |

I read somewhere that Walmart was reversing the decision to remove gun sales in some areas. Here in NC it wasn't long ago that only a few select stores carried firearms. Then around the beginning of this year both my local stores started back and in one location they seem to have a larger, better selection than ever. I haven't noticed anything like what the op has, but I will definitely check them out. Biggest issue will be tracking down the one person in the store that has the damn key for the case. |
