TxLewis may have been down the hill Saturday night when the Hun's First Artillery lowered the mortar muzzles for a few direct-fire rounds. Expressions of excitement emanated from the likely impact area. That called out the Hun's Volunteer Fire Brigade for some on-the-spot field practice. [X][X][X]

Saturday night somewhere between firing full auto tracer bursts at the Evening Star and watching surveillance satellites swarming overhead, someone broke out the fireworks. The entire Hun Cavalcade paused outside Wichita Falls at the appropriately named "Rifle Range Road" to purchase mass quantities of explosives. These were kept under strictest security for fear they fall into the wrong hands. And they did, of course, fall into the wrong hands. It took only a few well placed "Artillery Shells" and a taste of RedGoat's whiskey to fully appreciate our opportunity. Here we sat by the cabin on top of the hill while below and between us and the shooting range sat the best marksmen. There was simply nothing else to do. Artillery tubes were lowered from mortar trajectories to howitzer. Projectiles were duly loaded. And the first round launched toward the shooting range. A bit low. Perhaps twenty feet over the heads of our friends at the range when it exploded. A magnificent star cluster. The next round proved more worthy than the first and the brilliant green star shell exploded ten feet lower than the first. The firing line was impressed. And they let us know. It was sheer wisdom on the part of our friends on the firing line to light those grass fires to get our attention. Soon those on top of the hill not convulsed by laughter joined those at the foot of the hill in a strange dance of warm feet. And Eric had to miss the whole show. Ah, but there's next time.
