I have parkerized many a gun.  In a nutshell, here is how I do it:

Disassemble and degrease

Beadblast all carbon steel parts

Cook in Dicro Clean 909, a pre bluing cleaner/degreaser about, 190 degrees

Put the parts in clean hot water for about a minute, not too long or they will rust

Into the parkerizing solution they go, just until the parts stop "gassing" (bubbling)

remove and rinse off solution with clean water

place in water displacing oil overnight

reassemble

Go to www.brownells.com  for everything you ever wanted to buy concerning gunsmithing

Balming

EDIT-  all of this is done in gas fired tanks made of carboin stel, except the park tank which must be stainless.
