Coal Mine.  Did you know we had one in this state?

Not as big as what you run at work but, bigger than BusMaster007.

BTW - when I get some time I have some train questions.

1Gun,

The picture of Cat 793 didn't come across, please repost.

I used to live near Seattle for +10 years, what
part of WA is the mine located at (obviously over the Cascade Divide!)

I really like your personal truck.  It looks a lot like mine (Dodge Ram 4x4 lifted +7 inches).

Thanks,

Merlin

Well, I always assumed that Black Diamond got it's name from coal. [:)]

Also, we used to pick up loaded coal rail cars at Ravensdale, so there is obviously a coal mine somewhere around there.

I've also seen an open pit coal mine indicated on military maps somewhere around Tenino.

Well, drive that baby on down here to Texas, Son, and shoot with us at the Hun Farm this weekend!

We may even pitch in for gas! [:D]

But we might have to take out a bank loan for that....

According to The Learning Channel that's the biggest one that CAT makes, if I remember right.  If you haven't seen their special on mining trucks and stripping shovels I would suggest calling TLC and getting the tape.  Speaking from a gear head's perspective, it was very interesting.

BTW, how much do those tires cost?  They got be a few thousand...and way a few thousand.

It carries 3000 gallons of diesel and around 1000 gallons of various oils and coolant.  For refueling and servicing equipment.  To be honest it is overkill, the standard mine service trucks are offroad Kenworth and Peterbuilt trucks(not that much bigger than those on the road) that can carry an adequate amount of product.

I see.  That's what I thought.  By the way, I like your personal truck.  I've got a white 99 F250 long bed 4X4 with the 7.3L PS.  You ever visit http://www.ford-diesel.com?  Lots of good info over there.

So does that have the diesel or the v10?  What did the lift and bigger tires do to the performance?  I've got a SuperDuty, Supercab with the Powerstroke diesel.  I would love to put bigger tires on it but I do a lot of towing and don't want to mess that up.

Yes not in awhile though.  Mods include: 74 HP chip, redesigned air box and intake, dual exhaust straight pipe, B&D engine brake, 3.5" downpipe, and more.  Considering a propane fogger system.  It will light those tires up now.

Powerstroke with mods listed above.  I do a lot of towing and it does great.  I am around 325HP to the tires.

I've already done the Hypertech power chip and a k&n filter to mine.  What did you do to the air box and intake?  I have seen an aftermarket ram air package but it's about $500.  A little high for ram air I think.  The ram air on my Trans Am was only about $200.

Dukota - I will get you the info on the box and intake.

sr15 - They just did a bunch of hiring.  Mostly truck drivers.
