Today is simply one of those many days of the week where I am trudging through the day here at work.  My Bday is tomorrow, and i'm not going to do anything for my 22nd Bday except probably pay credit card bills and clean my apartment.

HOWEVER, thursday I'm going to the local funshop/range with a potential convert into the world of shooting safely & responsibly for fun.  She shows some interest in handguns, and I'm going to introduce her to the AR15s too (just to get her hooked).

F'in Bummer!  She wouldn't let me take any digicam pics!  But she did let me take a couple with her disposable.  I guess she thought she'd wind up being edited onto a nude or something...  Who knows why?

Well, she did enjoy shooting and hopes to go again.  She was very reluctant to squeeze off that first round, and it took ehr about 3 minutes of hesitating and comforting.  Then I heard complaints about it being too loud.  So I gave her supplemental hearing devices (ear plugs) for under her muffs she was wearing already.  She did very well considering the Glock 19C was stovepiping and FTFing the whole damn time!  The gun was REALLy dirty and bone-dry.  One of the slide rails was exhibiting a great deal of rust too!

I tried the same gun (rental) about 1 year ago, and it was in tip-top condition, but now it really got banged up good!  Barrel & chamber were looser than a crack-whore and the rounds almost NEVER hit the target accurately.  It was in severe need of an overhaul.

But we enjoyed firing 150 rds though.
