What's the difference between a BLK and a 300Whisper?

A red cunt hair in neck size, and a bit longer throat on the BLK.  a sloppy 300 whisper chamber.

you can shoot 300 whisper in BLK but you cannot shoot blk in whisper.

And no fees are required for a manufacturer to produce ammunition, dies, barrels, etc.

Sounds louder than it was, but then again Remington 220 Gr ammo is on the ragged edge of supersonic velocity anyways... I love the 300 Blackout, and an currently playing around with handloads. It's a fun project & cartridge with a suppressor.
And yes, the scope has since been zeroed, and wasn't when the video was made (hence the loan steel target impact)...

you guys are doing a horrible job.

Ok. This is a budget build. Any suggestions on bbl manufactureres that don't cost a ton of money? Looking to spend 250 ish. Looking for a 16in CAR setup. Gonna have ADCO chop to 14.5 and perm attach a YHM QD Phantom FH.

Bought one.  Played with it for a while.  Found the velocity very limiting if you use a rifle for what a rifle normally is used for.

16" barrel...125gr bullets...2350 FPS sucks balls no matter what way you cut it if you are used to shooting 5.56 out to 300-400-500 yards.

I guess an 8" SBR with a can is pretty cool, using 220gr subs...shooting inside 100 yards.

What kind of max velocity are you getting from those 240's???

I'm NOT a big fan of 300 BLK, but the ability to shoot Hard-Cast Lead is EXTREMELY attractive to me...

What magazines do you use to shoot those big lead cartridges???  Some kind of PMag, or 556 mags?

modified p-mag. internal neck ribs removed. and I have some usgi's that work good too..

I love mine. 9" AAC upper with YHM 7.62SD and NF 2-5-10x24NPR1. The reticle really helps with bullet drop compensation.

I'm using 10.8grs of AA1680 with a 220gr SMK and rem 7.5 primer. Right at 1000fps.

I is broke right now. Gotta sell some wares on the EE just to fund the bbl.

ETA: thank you though!

they will do another run of them.. he had 38 in the overrun and there almost gone in 3 weeks..

and 11grs of A1680 gives 1050 fps..

I can also run 147s(subsonic)  with off-the-shelf loads in my 9mm all day long.

I know there is an extra 33grs of lead (a 22LR worth) in the 180gr round, but I am just not feeling the need to reload a wildcat to get the same results as a proven off-the-shelf-at-Wal-Mart load?

I have a .308 that I can run subsonics in as well if I *really* need to get to 180+ grs of subsonic.

I don't get the 300 BLK's purpose.

To launch 240grn rounds subsonic?

go price subsonic .308 ammo and then try to get it to cycle a semi auto or full auto, then you would see why some do "get it".

I never shoot past 100 yards. Ok well 150 yards. I don't ever have the opportunity and hunting on the east coast does not lend itself to super long shots. Inside 100 yards is perfect for me.

50.00 a box, just saw it the other day.  [b]TxLewis]/b] loads mine for much less.

I can get subsonic 9mm 147gr to cycle all day long in my SBR and M16.  I can buy it by the case and carry 40, not 30, rounds in a magazine.

The ability to shoot 240gr bullets is interesting, and FWIW, I've seen 7.62x39 running subsonic as well.

So, what is the advantage of the 300 over other, simpler, options?

"220 grain Sierra OTM (open-tip match) bullets vastly outperforms a 9mm MP5-SD in penetration and long range accuracy"

I'm not going to try to convince you or anyone else to like the round, if you think a 147g 9mm will give you the same or better performance rock on.

Comparing a 147 pistol bullet to a 240gr SMK is apple and oranges. Plug in the BC(and weight, speed, etc.) of your 9mm bullet into a external ballistics calculator and compare it to the 240gr SMK. The 240gr retains its energy for A LOT longer than a low BC pistol round.

According to my data on a 240gr(BC .685) SMK moving at 1000fps: The projectile leaves muzzle at 1000fps and only slows to 886fps at 500yds and 806fps at 975yds.

Don't get me started on supersonics....
