I have 2: One in 30cal, one in 9mm. Original cailber is more fun, though the 9 has shot a few thousand rounds and won't jam on anything it's fed. Eastern bloc military sidearm and the Czech's don't make a bad weapon that I've ever seen (save maybe the CZ-50). I'd go for it.

I have one, great value. I would just keep it in 7.62, the ammo is cheap, plus there are really hot super loads available for it.
If you have to switch to 9mm, there was an article in SGN a few weeks ago on how to do it. It is a hot shooting pistol. |

7.62 Tok is an interesting round with alot of potential for future use.

Go to FNFAL.com and contact FWRA, he's an FFL that makesa a special slide release that retrofits easily and is more friendly to use. He is also having several new VERY HOT loads in 7.62 made that will be fully reloadable! Do a search over there for the threads, he has pics of his guns in them and his 52 is a beaut!

i just got one and love it. very comfortable to shoot. I have not found it to be very accurate in close but for some reason not to bad at distance .
if you reload there are some neat options for this thing as well. Including a 55gr .223 sabot load that pushes rifle velocities. check out [url]www.makarov.com[/url] for some good info. mike |

They're good.. Look for one with the origional finish (greyish green), and get all the accessories..The magazines DO wear out, if you shoot a lot of hot loads.. (The cartridges move back and forth in the mag body under recoil, and work harden the body til it cracks at the top..) But they're cheap, get a bunch..
I hve only played a little with the 9mm conversions, preferring the 7.62X25 in that handgun..They worked, but were'nt as impressive.. Meplat- |

I read the article in SGN and thats what convunced me to get one. I'm ordering one from SOG, with a spare magazine and holster.
