That's amazing to hear midwinter!

It's hard to express to those who haven't battled mental demons what it's like to continually fight them, and how hard it can be to see the sunshine peering through the other side of that dark cloud.

Sounds like you been fighting like hell, and are starting to gets some wins back in your column.   I wish you the best of luck with your interview tomorrow.   Go crush it friend!

The interview went well. I'll likely find out tomorrow.

Funny, maybe good thing:

I was dressed exactly like the guy that interviewed me. Same color buttons on the same black polo, same Keen boots, etc.

We looked like twins. Except I'm a tall skinny white guy and he's a short....let's say portly, Hispanic man.

Thanks all of you for the continuing support. Even if you didn't know that you where helping.

I know it seems like a bleak outlook right now, but this could spring board you into a much better job.  Keep your head up friend, and realize that your self worth, and reason for existing is not based on whether or not you held that past job.

Your future is as bright as ever, and you have millions of possibilities at your fingertips now.   It's in your power to turn this into a win in the long game, and I believe you'll do just that once you get over the shock to the system this terrible event has caused you.

Your family, friends, and the things you love are what define you, not your occupation.   We're all here for you as well, and I know you'll be back on your feet in no time if you stay in the fight!

New management for one thing.
The place is a revolving door for production people.
I was maintenance and had a couple production people that did not like me,production supervisor and lead both were on my ass.
I was not great at adjusting some of the equipment, like shrink tunnels and this tube filler.
My boss was no help.
I was on seconf shift for almost two years, I guess I should have stayed there!
I was told when I started on first shift that " If we do not like you, we will not give you work" an that pretty much sums up the entire attitude of the place.
I saw it coming and had been putting in apps, just mo call backs.

So I am off in a few minutes to put in more apps, and then apply for unemployment on line later

Yes! My doctor that does my ketamine treatments went to a medical conference where they are seriously looking into these psychedelics, but in small controlled doses rather than abusive amounts

My last Ketamine treatment was 47 mg’s.  Abusers use 1000.

...and yes. My suicidal thoughts vanished the first day and have not returned since I first posted about these treatments.

Suicide prevention is nice. Talk to me after you spend time with people that DON'T want to die but are going to anyway against their will, and I suspect your sympathy for self murderers will be diminished.

Any one can die. It's not hard. Suicide "attempts" are all bullshit. People die by accident 87 times a day when they really had no desire to die, but you want me to believe you genuinely tried to get dead and failed? That's the most bullshit claim of all time. You want to die, call me, and I'll tell you how to go sleepy sleep forever, or if you want some help, that.

I've been down. I've been there. If I "attempted" suicide its a guaranteed success. That's why I never did.

Your experience is not unique, as Ed Sr. has already pointed out.

You're not thinking rationally; you're abusing alcohol, and it wouldn't surprise me if you're abusing and/or taking prescribed drugs. Are you doing drugs, illegal or otherwise?

Straight up honest here, bro: you are a prime candidate for treatment.

Update on SPRAVATO nasal spray that was recently approved by the FDA and discussed earlier in this thread.   This is potentially awesome news for many of our vets, including hopefully some here battling depression, and PTSD.   As already discussed, the initial quotes in regards to pricing made it seem like only a drug the rich could afford.   However, now it seems that the VA is going to make this available which could be a real game changer for many.

VA to make new nasal spray drug available for treatment-resistant depression

" Today the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced its health care providers will now be able to offer the newly approved Spravato nasal spray for treatment-resistant depression.
The treatment will be made available to Veterans based on their individual medical needs combined with providers’ clinical assessments.
The move follows the March 5 Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of Spravato (esketamine) nasal spray. Spravato was approved for use in conjunction with an oral antidepressant for the treatment of treatment-resistant depression in adults...…."

https://www.va.gov/opa/pressrel/pressrelease.cfm?id=5220

For you vets....you guys earned every bit of care you can get, and then some.  If you have been battling that dark cloud for way too long, and feel like numerous other treatments have always failed, please look into taking advantage of this new treatment.

That's great news!

Guys, don't be concerned about using, or frustrated with, experiences you've had or heard about the VA. Go through a VSO, contact the Volunteers of America, or both. Go all in with the goal of improving and you will get help.

The people at the VA and VOA work together at helping vets in my AO. Shouldn't be any different anywhere else.

The VOA also helps non-vets. Use them if you're down and out. give them a call even if you don't think you qualify for assistance. You just might be surprised.

I was homeless, broke, and without a job over the holidays. With the help of the VA, VOA, and county job service, I now have full time work and just moved into my own apartment. There are plenty of good people doing good work out there. Their job is to help people, use them.

I agree, and veteran suicide is one of the most tragic things to hear about as a non veteran.   It's hard to understand as well as a non veteran, as I see those who served especially in a combat role as men, and women who fulfilled a true noble life's purpose before many times they hit middle age.

The part I bolded is just amazing, and inspirational to say the least.   You've clearly practiced the attitude, and outlook you been preaching in this thread with regards to helping others.   That's such a difficult thing you've accomplished.
