So I got this email from a this guy named Stephen Braddy who is a new poster here on AR15.com. On his first post he attempted to solicit advice about illegal modifications to an AR. He was promptly chastised by several posters. Since I know, as do you, that this place is frequently trolled by various LE agencies, and that LEOs are not above entrapment, I said his post "smelled like pork", no offense meant to our decent minded LEO bretheren here. Today I got an email from this young man who, in that fascinatingly sharp literate debate style honed by our modern educational system, called me a "Fucking idiot." Pretty verbose little guy, huh? Anyway, he was kind enough to include his email, his business phone number, and his cell phone number, so I called. Here is the conversation:

SB-Hello?
JH-Hi. Is this Stephen Braddy?
SB-Yeah. Who is this.
JH-Steve! Great to hear your voice! Tell me, are you in the CT or NY state area?
SB-Uhhh, who did you say you were?
JH-This is Jeff Hasner. Are you in the CT or NY state area?
SB-Why do you want to know that?
JH-Well I just thought I would come down and see you face to face.
SB-Uhh, why do you want to do that? Who are you? Where do I know you from?
JH- Come on Steve! You know me! Jeff Hasner! Are you in the the CT or NY area? I would love to come see you.
SB-Are you the guy I sent an email to from AR15.com?
JH-Of course not. Where are you?
SB-I don't want to tell you.
JH-Ah Steve, tut tut. You know what Steve? In the middle ages archers were considered cowards. Did you know that?
SB- (sounding a little nervous) Uhh, no.
JH-Ya know why? Because they hid in the back and let the guys with balls up front do all the real fighting. We have become a nation of archers Steve. Don't hide behind your computer, tell me where you are so we can have a face to face.
SB-No.
JH-Oh well.
So I hung up.

Here is the info he thoughtfully provided to me:

I thought about that, but it just isn't my style. I am deep down not at all that civilized. Besides, that sort of goes back to that whole archer thing.

408 is a California area code.  South Bay, ie, south of San Francisco.  San Jose, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, etc.  He was probably a bit confused by your question on his location.

(408) is San Jose, CA.

I checked both these numbers on 5551212.com and neither is listed.

Anyone else try to call these numbers?

Jim Beam is right. I used to live in San Jose and work at 3Com....408 area code.

Agile is in Silicon Valley.

I think their stock is in the dumpster...perhaps he was taking out his frustrations with the Silicon Valley home pricing on you!

Cell Phones cost a bit more money than land lines.  So, if you want to screw with someone, call there cell repeatedly at odd times (not continuously).  better yet, list it as a Hot (976-ish) number for folks to call.
Of course, that's only for anti folks, not silly pro folks.  [:)]

You really should take that personal info off.

Everything else is pretty funny.
