I think I posted a thread about this a couple of years ago and never got a positive response, so here it goes again.
About 6 years ago my wife gave me a 1991 Kennedy half dollar she had gotten in change. After looking at it closely I noticed that Kennedy had 3 foreheads, 3 noses, 3 sets of lips and 3 chins.
No where else on the coin is there any type of mis-strike or signs of die chatter. The letters and the top and back of the head are perfect. It has a mint mark of P on it.
So far, I have not come across another one like it nor heard of anyone else that has.
When I took it into a local coin shop the guy offered me $125 on the spot for it. Of course I didn't take it, but had him send it off to be appraised. When it came back he called me in and informed me it wasn't worth anything but he'd still give $15 for it. You can imagine what I wanted to say.
Anyway, where would be a good place to start to find out what the real value of this coin is and if there has been any reports of any others?
Should I send a photo of it to "The Offical Red Book" of United States Coins?
