The M1 Garands are junk. Get one from the CMP.

I bought that Ecudorian 8mm stuff from him, I have shot over 200 rounds of it with no misfires.
Factory 8mm can cost anywhere from $12.00 to $22.00. PMC is the cheapest factory ammo in my neck of the woods.
Pick up a copy of Shotgun News and look at the ammo prices listed in there.
