Ok it seems we do have enough interest to do a gift exchange, it may be small but we can go through with it.
Here are the ground rules: 1.) Gift shall be valued at approximately $25.00 plus shipping. 2.) Only members who have been registered since April 2002 may participate. 3.) Gifts must be of shooting/ outdoor interest. 4.) Participants are responsible for contacting each other for shipping instructions once paired. 5.) Deadline to sign up will be May 20, you will be paired that night and contacted the next day with the email for your partner. 6.) All gifts should be shipped no later than May 24. 7.) Participants are responsible for making sure that their gifts are legal in the area they are shipping them to. If you are still interested in participating please reply below with your email address so that I may contact you with your partner. If you have any questions please post them on the following thread: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?id=116976 You may also contact me with questions at Jake [red]ONLY POST IN THIS THREAD IF YOU DESIRE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE EXCHANGE![/red] |

I'm in. But with finals coming up, work, school, buying/shopping for the gift, going to wherever I have to go to ship it (if I have to drop it off) and a few other things I'm not accounting for or can't forsee I can't make any promises it'll be shipped by May 24. End of the month to the first week of June at the latest (although I doubt it'll be that long). So if thats a problem, I'm out...

Just my .02:
Since there seems to be alot of new sign-ups in just the last two days, I suggest that the ship date for the gift exchange be pushed back. Also, witht he memorial day weekend approaching many people are super busy. Just a suggestion. |

I have a gift ready, so if I get paired up with someone else that does also, I say we just arrange a same day to ship so we get them at the same time. Early, late, doesn't matter to me :)

I have a suggestion...
Don't put an "absolute ship date" or x amount of restrictions and rules to follow. Some people can't always make it to the PO by that day. Maybe something happened? Regardless, we are all upstanding people, and I seriously doubt any one of us are going to get ripped. My vote is for the poll to go down. |

Quoted: I ran one for X-mas gift X-change,as "MAGS"[green]....I have a few monikers here[/green][:o].I'd suggest a little longer signup period, you offer 5 days....the 15th to the 20th.Your the conductor' of this one, but the more time the more potential signups.IIRC I included 2 weekends, total 10-14days,I think I had 20 pairs thats 40 folks, plus it WAS X-MAS TIME.I do not care how long after the pairing the gifts should mail, really, just allow time for those that procrastanate(sp) like ME! [;)]....If you pair me w/HIELO, I'd have to take out a loan to get him something to comensurate with what he sent me, but I could'nt afford the dancing 'nekid girls' to deliver it like he did![;)]...I hope thats not alot to live up to hielo,my friend, after all it was X-mas!..... View Quote I originally started the thread taking interest on May 10, the deadline to sign up is May 20 that gave 10 days notice that there was to be an exchange personally I think that is enough. If someone has to think longer than that about participating how long would it take to get your exchange completed? As far as not having an absolute ship date that doesn't seem to be the consensus of members it seems so far that most people want it done by June 5 that leaves 12 business days for shipping, is that unreasonable? To say that we are all upstanding is a bit of a stretch through the various gift exchanges that have been held several people have been stiffed and I would like to do my best to prevent that even though I have no true control over it. The reason for the ground rules was simple, if you can't comply why participate, Most people don't want to wait forever to see if they are going to be the one who gets the shaft on the exchange. If I can ship handmade Galco holsters in 11 days or less participants can ship a $25.00 gift in 12 days wouldn't you think? Jake |

I'm in-It's Jake's idea, I say let him set the rules and we keep to 'em.
