There is no way that I would ever buy that nor anything else from that company as none of their products contain the word "tactical".

Honestly I was going to go the Giles sling route within the week until I saw this post. I've been looking all over the place for this sling.

What's the attraction? The bungee material itself, or is there more to it?
From the [url=www.zmweapons.com/accessories.htm]ZM Accessory Page[/url], it looks like it's not really a singlepoint sling, and that it's set up for the attachment points on their weapon only...not that it couldn't be customized, I guess. |

Just the way it fits. It's Bungee so it snaps up against you when you transition to a handgun, but it doesn't bounce when you run.

grrr, I'm gonna hafta look at Ronin45's sling again. It's similar but both ends end up at a "hook" that attatches to a single point sling plate. I'm hoping the one Matrix is talking about is the one I'm looking for.

If you go to the ZM accessory page I linked above, it shows you that they only sell one sling, and the pic Matrix linked is just a close up of the buckle and ends of the sling in the pic I posted.
Maybe Ronin45 did some custom work to his and hooked it up to a sling attachment plate? |

I've seen the bungee sling at a three gun match. IPSC shooter Todd Jarret represents ZM and said he designed the sling. Don't know the accuracy of that, but it looked like a pretty slick set up. As I recall it was a loop that attaches at a single point on the weapon. He was selling them at the match, but didn't have any spare cash handy. I think it would be worth a try at that price.

I guess you can order them direct from ZM Weapons. The one on the website shows the two point system...but the picture in Combat Handguns August 2002, pg. 90, shows the one point system...looks like just a wrap around velcro piece on the forend of the buttstock...it doesn't look like there needs to be any modification done to the firearm for the one pictured in the magazine.

Some of these slings appear to have a very limited ability to weak-side transition. One of them, on their web site, even uses the word "limited" re: transitioning.
That kills it for me. Ability to easily transition to weak side and sidearm is crucial in the real world whereas relatively unimportant on the range. Pass. |

I am testing out some of ZM Weapons single point bungee slings. We have not had a problem transitioning since the bungee material can be stretched to allow clearance of the buttstock to the other shoulder. It beats having to unsnap a buckle in order to get the necessary slack. The slings come in 3 sizes S,M,L. For the average sized individual, I would recommend the M, since it will allow you to adjust the length for wear over a ballistic vest as well as without. The sling also allows you to transition to sidearm easily by rotating the weapon to the side. The bungee sling keeps the weapon tight to your body and when brought up to the high carry will provide enough resistance to lock your weapon into your shoulder without sacrificing maneuverability. No, I do not work for ZM, but I do test his stuff out. His single point slings are not on his website yet, but are available for purchase if you give him a call. The new slings are not on the website. The single point is a modification of the standard bungee sling. Hi Bear! I actually replaced the buffer plate with one made my GG&G [url]www.gggaz.com/products/RnP_SA.php[/url] (the slotted one) and took off the bungee slings (two came with my ZM), replaced them with a three point sling.
When the rifle used to have the bungee slings I could wear the rifle like a backpack |
