OT, is there anyone here who either didn't see Wattie get his ass kicked, or know somebody who kicked his ass while touring here? I think that's why they stopped. Yes, Chicago 1989, he got rolled by myself and some others for singing "Fuck the USA" after being warned by the promoter not to do it. That is why they stopped coming here. While we're talking "Street Punk" how about: Mickey Fitz ~ The Business Mensi ~ Angelic Upstarts Chubby Chris ~ Combat 84 Gary Hodges ~ The 4-Skins I.S.D. ~ From that band named after something you'd find in a toolbox (NO I ABSOLUTELY HAVE NO SYMPATHY FOR HIS POLITICS!) Kev ~ Condemned 84 Carl Templar ~ The Templars Mark ~ The Anti-Heros |

GEDDY LEEEEEEEEEEE! AAAARRRGGGGHHHHHH! That screeching grate on my ears! If you like singers that sound like that I suggest Mariah Carey. At least she's easier on the eyes. In no particular order: Johnny Rotten (Pistols, not PiL) Dio Bruce Dickinson Ian Astbury Mike Ness Dez Cadena (better than Henry in Black Flag) Steve Tyler (although better in the old days) Jello Biafra (earlier rather than later stuff) Robert Plant was great in the early Zep days, then basically destroyed his voice. Yup..I am a metal fan...and despite the great number of BAD singers..there are few that are just awesome. In fact, James LaBrie is opera trained..and still takes lessons from a master opera singer. |

Great list. Ian Stuart was definately one of the best. Back With A Bang is a classic. Carl from The Templars is also real good. Again, in the streetpunk genre there are almost too great ones to name. One of the better ones out there right now is Joe Blow from The Staggers (formerly Riot Sqad). Man that guy can sing. |
