I am surprised the fuse did not blow... shorting the contacts with a key would be much more than a 20 amp load....

yeah, the doctor that examined me was an NRA/ILA member, and was genuinely concerned about my loss of shooting for a few weeks, he said, that realistically, i could shoot when i felt like it, but he had to "officially" dissuade me from anything like that for a few weeks.
