Hmmm, need to buy a digital camera to take a picture of my baby opossums.  Well, technically they aren't pets but their in my house so I guess that counts...

Last week while puttering around the yard, I found a baby slider turtle in a flower bed.  It's maybe 2 inches in diameter.  It had evidently lost its way trying to get to the lake (we live half a mile up the ridge from the water) and was pretty much dead from hunger and dehydration.  Kids of course went crazy.  So now we have an aquarium, gallons of spring water, several kinds of revolting reptile food, three smiling kids and one fat happy turtle.  I'll get the digital camera out after the kids get home from school.

I have 4 ferrets and 2 Egytian Sand Boas.  I don't have access to the pictures right now, but I'll try to post them later.

I also have a Pitbull and a cat, but they aren't allowed in this thread.

Here's my roommate's Burmese Python. It was very hungry, and had just gotten done trying to eat me. It was about midnight, and I was in the house alone in my room. We had the windows open since it was a nice night, and I left my door open to let some air circulate through. I was playing Civ III on my computer, when for no particular reason I looked down at my feet. (glad I did). There she was. A 12 foot snake flicking its tongue at my bare leg. She hadn't eaten in a while, and I guess she was hunting. I did not feel like being dinner, so after I was done shrieking like a little girl, I pushed the snake from my room with my chair.

Here is part of the middle of the snake as she goes into my roommate's room. Notice that you can neither see the head or tail.

A big snake on the hunt!

WTF?

Not one person in this forum has a bird, frog, or lizard (other than the chicken in the "exotic" photo above)?

Does anybody have a peacock or an emu or an iguana or something?

Carnivorous plants maybe?

HOLY CRAP!!

I probably would have had a heart attack, let alone just scream.

No way in hell would I be able to sleep that night...

Probably find some way to push it outside and shoot the living shit out of it!

Not a snake hater by any means, just would be terrified!

Oh ya, I have a cat!
