I always enjoy seeing pictures of someone else's toys because I always get new ideas. However, I would be reluctant to do so. Why show the world (i.e. undesirables...ranging from certain public sector agency officials to those looking to find a house to break into that has lots of guns)what I've got? It would be easy for a hacker to find out my home address. Do you guys always feel comfortable posting these pics or do you fear that showing the world what you've got is an invitation for trouble? [:\]

Do it all the time, I figure what the hell, I'm operating within the law, so screw anybody that has a problem with. Although I would not put pics of my guns along with family pics on my office desk. Might scare some of the soccer moms where I work.
Many people think just because your into guns, that your some sort of pyscho thats going to get up on top of the building and start shooting down on people. I hate those sort of sterotypical jerks. Like I always say, "I just wanna shoot, and not get hassled by the man!" |

I'm not that worried about it. Someone want's to try and break into my home to rob my guns - Good Luck! I have them insured anyway. |

Anti,
That is a beautiful specimen. It brings a tear to my eye.[>(] |

This rifle has more than just an awesome exterior finish, it is equipped w/ the following:
[*] Gapper[/*] [*] Ergo grip[/*] [*] RRA 2-stage trigger[/*] [*] McFarland gas rings[/*] [*] Harris tilt/swivel bipod[/*] [*] Olyarms pnumatic buffer[/*] [*] 3.5 pound buttstock weight[/*] [*] Alchemy Arms tactical latch[/*] [*] ER Shaw 1|8" SS match grade barrel[/*] [*] IOR 16x42 side focus scope w/ med height 30mm QD rings[/*] This was designed to be a one of a kind 1-hole shooter, and with Saturdays results in heavy winds and rain, it is far more capable than I ever expected! I should also add the the Lauer finish adds a very unique lubricity to the inisides of the receivers. When fired for the very first time Saturday (during a monsoon/hurricane), it had never even been lubricated, and still performed flawlessly with all of the water that it was exposed to. She has now been properly cleaned and lubricated, and thus the bolt glides perfectly! I got to fondle and shoot Anti's new toy. Na-na-na-na-na [:D]
Very, very nice. Personally, I would get a scope without water drops on the lenses. It is very distracting. Hehe |

I don't think it's any secret to the government I own these... since I had to give them $200 for a "tax stamp", my picture and the serial numbers to the guns... I might as well post pictures for everyone to see as a result. :)

Well as you probably figured out for your self, nobody really owns any of this stuff.
Otherwise, they'd be posing in front of their house, with the street number in the background, a street sign and their vehicle plates visible, and the local paper up close - Just to prove it all to the doubters. Never mind what the alpha-agencies think - by the time they got there, the burglars would have them all, anyway. |

How about a link to a library so we can upload images of our collections or e-mail them to a moderator and have that person post them. This will provide a way for us to share our toys, yet remain anonymous. [:\]

The government pretty much knows what I have, since I have a C&R license they have the right to audit me at any time anyway, and see all my stuff, which is legal. If they actually patrol the board or whatever than they know my attitude too, well nothing wrong with that, that's why I post here.
As for criminals, any of them smart enough to actually trace my internet identities to my actual home address, case the place out, come in when nobody is home to greet them, defeat my gunsafe, and escape undetectable (no fingerprints for example), well I guess they are a high enough class of thief that they could have gotten to my stuff anyway. Frankly, where I live, the class of criminals that operate here is so low that they are almost amusing. A guy here robbed a bank the other day with no weapon at all, just verbally, but was not wearing a mask and parked his car so close that several patrons saw his license plate number. The police apprehended him less than 30 minutes later, as he was cooking hot dogs on a grill at his house with a friend. The money was in the trunk of the car, in the bank's bags. THAT is the kind of hard core criminal we get here in mid-Missouri! There really is no limit to paranoia, is there? What about that guy I saw at the range who was looking at my stuff with so much interest? He could have written down my license plate number when I left the range and used it to get my address from his friends in the DMV... I guess I'd better never go to the shooting range in my own car again! C'mon people. When the day comes that showing a photo of your completely legitimate, legal personal property endangers said property to the extent that you have to keep everything you own a secret, then it's time to move to another part of town or something. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid30/p2ab872b0e8404a785600fdcc491a193f/fd508585.jpg.orig.jpg |

Well, It's not like I'm posting the combo to the safe(s), or the location(s) that the rifles actually reside in, or the alarm code or where the surveilance stuff is. If somebody's got the balls to try something, they'd better smile for the cameras. Power on or off, lights on or off, there's measures taken. Plus everything is 100% legal and insured.
But I still worry sometimes... [:(] Oops. I almost forgot: [:P] |

I'm not worried about the government, I haven't done anything wrong and if they really want to find out about what guns I have I'm sure they can do that.
I can theoretically see someone targeting them for theft. It wouldn't be impossible for someone to figure out who I was (there are plenty of people here who know my real name) and what guns I own, but my collection of firearms isn't worth anywhere near enough to go through that bother, seems like it'd be easier to steal my Infiniti out of my driveway than to come into my house and risk me showing up in time, or being at home, to do my "Scarface" imitation (Say hello to my leeetle frieeend! BRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAP! [uzi]). Besides most thiefs are morons who commit crimes of opportunity, it's the rare bird that commits a burglary with that amount of planning and the ones that do usually hit commercial establishments, less chance of being caught and in most states it's a less serious crime than entering a house. |

Never hurts to tell the crazies in the world you have a gun..........
I want to go over to Paul's house someday to play........... "How many guns do you own?" If you can tell someone how many, you don't have enough. Answer is "What caliber?". |
