Ad Aware is an awesome program. I have been using it for a couple years now. It does a very efficient job.
You can also get it here: download.com.com/3000-209...ag=lst-0-2

Also, this is a link to lavasoft adaware it will remove spyware from your computer worth it to use and its free www.majorgeek.com/index2.html

You may be surprised at what you find. KAZAAlite, a music source, has you run spyware and then when you install their software, you get some more! If you delete it, it tells you you must install a needed componet--the damn spyware!

Kazaa lite,

It still needs one file which does show up in Ad Aware. They put in a dummy file to keep the software running (cd_clint.dll). The README for Kazaa lite explains this.

If you uninstalled the full Kazaa, then run Ad-aware to clean up the left overs. You are good to go to install Kazaa lite.

I run Ad-aware at least once a week.

My biggest problem is all the damn cookies left behind when I go on a porn hunt [}:)]

You're right - Kazaa is infected with Cydoor spyware.  But since Morpheus died your options are pretty much limited to going back to Kazaa.  Unfortunately, if you let Ad-Aware "clean" Kazaa, the program will no longer work.

The solution is to replace the spyware files with dummies. You can find them by clicking here.

Cookies can be turned off by you, I use Netscape for my browser and it is easy to access and turn off cookies.

The first thing to have when going online is a great firewall, not just one at your ISP, YOU need one that you control.
It will halt any action of any software or unknown spyware and ask you if you will allow it to accesss the internet, cool because you are now aware that a program unknown to you is in your pc system!
I recommend..

BCWipe is a "delete" program that will remove anything you want and ALL associated items that it has.
It is so good that it will delete anything you want to DoD (Dept. of Defence)standards and is NOT recoverable!
I also recommend

Not sure what's up, but here's the link to the lavasoft download page, which has some mirrors of the file.  Maybe that'll help...
