A week ago I shipped my custom 24" High Rise varmint system (as featured in the LEGP pics) to Lauer Custom Weaponry for an Urban Camo finish, and have been on pins and needles awaiting her return. As far as the quality of their finishes; I know what I have read, and of course we received the unit they donated for the BRC, but their is always still that twinge of doubt that causes nasty ulcers when trying to imaging what my overpriced custom rifle will look like when it's been painted... Well, it just arrived this morning, and I couldn't possibly imagine ever receiving a nicer finish, anywhere! The detail that went into this is unbelivable, as well as the microscopic flecks that break up the solid areas. Not only is this a painting that Davinci himself would approve of, but I also received a signed "Certificate Of Authenticity", stating the Date, Certificate Number and also the Firearm Serial Number... Lauer Custom Weaponry is a class act all the way! [blue]* Any of you that have purchased the 24" LEGP uppers, should very seriously consider having this done for that awesome ultra unique look. I have spoken with Rick Husby, and he'll be happy to treat you guys right![/blue]

Sure, but the 2002 LEGP engraving would be painted over... and that would be a damn crime! You should ship Lauers the prototype we sent you for Christmas, and have that worked over, since it's NOT engraved.

I like it.

man that is sweet, what's the cost on that
Link Posted: 4/26/2002 8:40:27 AM EDT
DAMN! I just popped the receivers in half, and noticed that the insides of the receiver were finished as well... like who the hell would ever look inside there..? Obviously, Lauers would!

They have numerous styles shown on their WEBSITE. As for the cost, this is about a $400 finish. Since the barrel had already been sandblasted, I didn't want it painted.

So what kind of scope you put on there??

The scope is an IOR 16x42 side-focus /w MP8 reticle. [}:D]

Anti let me handle this baby, and the pictures do not do it justice. The craftsmanship is exquisite. A beautiful piece of work.

Well, my rifle made it's public debut at the "Mid Missouri S.C.U.B.A. Shoot" yesterday, and with all of the AR's lying around on the benches during the hurricane type rains we had, mine was the only one where the water actually beaded up and rolled off of it... MedCop was astonished by this, and took pictures of it! BTW: This rifle has more than just an awesome exterior finish, it is equipped w/ the following: [*] Gapper[/*] [*] Ergo grip[/*] [*] RRA 2-stage trigger[/*] [*] McFarland gas rings[/*] [*] Harris tilt/swivel bipod[/*] [*] Olyarms pnumatic buffer[/*] [*] 3.5 pound buttstock weight[/*] [*] Alchemy Arms tactical latch[/*] [*] ER Shaw 1|8" SS match grade barrel[/*] [*] IOR 16x42 side focus scope w/ med height 30mm QD rings[/*] This was designed to be a one of a kind 1-hole shooter, and with yesterdays results in heavy winds and rain, it is far more capable than I ever expected! I should also add the the Lauer finish adds a very unique lubricity to the inisides of the receivers. When fired for the very first time yesterday, it had never even been lubricated, and still performed flawlessly with all of the water that it was exposed to. She has now been properly cleaned and lubricated, and thus the bolt glides perfectly!

anti brought this thing to the Mid-MO S.C.U.B.A. Shoot....and I got to shoot it! Shoot it in the rain of course. The pictures don't do it justice...nice...very nice! medcop

I hate to be the only negative, but I would much rather have basic black.

I too hate to be negative, but I have so damn many AR's laying around the place, that I'm getting tired of basic black!
Link Posted: 4/30/2002 3:08:49 PM EDT
Damn that is SWEET!! I have got to get that done!
