I think it's because the "action" stopped--and it became about inter-personal treachery and moral degradation and haunting betrayals, which (in my opinion) is what REALLY shed light on how fucked up Communism is/was.

Also there are shows that are enjoyable if you binge watch them because it doesn't allow you time to stop and really analyze what you're watching.  If you they cut it back to only one episode a week suddenly the show you use to enjoy as you let the content wash over you looks objectively not very good.

Take Cobra Kai (post-S1) for example.  Binge a 10 episode season in 24 hours makes for a, mostly, enjoyable experience.  However, if you objectively analyze each episode a week at a time you'd probably realize it's a show with bad/lazy writing, cringe dialogue, porn quality acting, and is LARGELY dependent on bombarding the audience with Member Berries.

Yikes, RRR was over the top Bollywood at 3 hours long. Like others said, could have shaved off a good hour and still had the same movie. Was mostly entertaining in the beginning and at the extended climactic battle scene with a long dragging portion in the middle. Whole lot of over the top cartoonish fight scenes both hand to hand and with firearms and even a motorcycle or two tossed in for good measure. The very long extended prison break/climactic ending battle especially so. The copious amounts of singing and dancing won't be everyone cup of tea. And yes the British, with the exception of one female character, are very much the bad guys in this one from start to finish.

For what ever reason Netflix on my Roku defaulted to Brazilian Portuguese for the audio track. Only choices for audio track were that, Hindi or Spanish. Had to switch it to Hindi with English subtitles.

I didn't think it was anything epic, but I did find it original and mostly enjoyable.  Nanno is pretty easy on the eyes too, IMO.

Two episodes into it and yes the second episode (near the end) does help explain things. While the Nanno actress may be easy on the eyes her laugh is harsh on the ears.

Some of the plotline however (at least in the first two episodes) may be disturbing or uncomfortable to some.

Considering her maniacal “psycho laugh” almost always only comes out when she’s fucking with people (and usually when she already has them freaked out) I think the laugh being jarring is kind of the point.

Same, I don't do dubbing/voice over either. Easy to miss the inflection and subtlety with voice overs.

On the flip side trying to watch The Girl from Nowhere in Thai with subtitles is a bit tough on the ears.

Part of me can't help but to watch it because my memories of that period remain very vivid. Its fiction of course, but the detail of the transition after the wall and the spook stuff is pretty cool.

Spoiler is correct.  She's also an old woman.

I also noted that since it was set in the 80s and the plot deals with Iran, they do news clips of Reagan and Iran Contra. Lots of people on this board look back fondly on the 80s, like me, but in this oviedo and a couple other shows I've seen always emphasis scandals under Reagan or Bush. No nostalgia for left wing Hollywood
