if two small children are fighting over a toy, you take it away from them. so here's what i propose:

move everyone out of the region so no-one gets hurt. then nuke the place, turn it radioactive for the next 1000 years.
tell them "if you cant play nice and share, then no-one gets jerusalem".

I agree with Blaze, the two sides don't look quite ready to make peace, which means they must continue to make war a while longer.
