I'm interested in how many of you carry your own reloads for CCW and how many use factory ammo. Those of you that carry reloads, what is your recipe? Those that carry factory, what do you use? [:\] [PISTOL]

I use Remington Golden Sabers now that my Winchester Black Talons are getting old.

I ONLY carry Hydra-Shoks...

Its my understanding a trial after a shooting involving reloads goes like this;

Persecuter:"Isnt it true you developed these high speed super monster cop killer bullets just to maim injure and cause great bodily harm'....

VERSUS HydraShoks where you say:"I only carry for defense what my local law enforcement carry"

Just what I understand, but I could be wrong.....

Definantly check them out, they tend to offer some hot loads for all sorts of calibers. I really like them, Great ballistics

According to Msaad Ayoob , using reloads for self-defense is a strict no-no , if you do carry them have a very good lawyer availiable . And a really large insurance policy .

I would have thought more people would have carried thier reloads. " The proudness Factor" of I made these I'm gonna stake my life on them. Thats the way I think. Oh well could just be me.[;)]

All,

While I'm not a total Mas Ayoob fan, he had a good point in an article several years ago about reloads vs. factory ammo for self-defense - and how using reloads was a bad idea.  Others in this post have made the same comments, so I'll leave that alone.

On another note, another point was to use, if possible, the same load/caliber your local law enforcement agency uses.  Seems like good advice to me, unless your local department is using .32 S&W Long.

One less thing to have to justify, if God forbid I ever have to shoot.

Clean out at least 3 mags every 6 months and buy new.
Shoot my reloads at the range. About once a week.
